ECU Flash users?

Hey guys, I'm gunna have around $700 pretty soon and was thinking about blowing it all on my evo. Great idea huh

thing is I dont wanna blow it all on just an exhaust... So I was thinking:

Megan Exhaust (~$500 right?)
Used MBC (~$70)
ECUFlash (~$50)

Thing is... I'm not a tuner by any means. I'm sorta afraid about trying to do this on my own, so can anyone else who's not very tech-savvy testify here? How easy is this to do?

It sounds easy, just plug and upload. I've farted around on ECUFlash, it seems fairly straight forward.

Then my last question is.... has anyone "re-flashed" back to stock? I assume that its possible to do, I'm just surprised I havn't heard about more people doing it. thoughts?

yes, i'm not a by any means and i successfully use ECUFlash from my desktop out the window with a USB extension cord. and yes, i've flashed back to stock as well, you should save your stock ROM image in two different places in case. i'm not too comfy with tuning myself either, lucky for us there are vendors like dynoflash, jestr tuning(reccomended), and TTP engineering that will email you a flash for around $50-$70 after you email them a copy of your stock ROM and list of mods. check out the ecuflash forum on this site under engine management-Evo, and look up the ECUFlash tutorial for beginners.

Megan catback exhaust $365 shipped in the 48 states from yours truly. ($550 for a 03-04 turboback)

Skip the boost controller depending on whether you can get where you want with ECUflash.

Now you are in the right forum for Ecuflash info.

If you are serious about making adjustments.. Take the money and buy the tools you need first.. Get the ECUFlash cable, a wideband setup, boost gage (if you don't already have one) etc.. Do this before you start spedning money on anything else..

Also, do your research on different exhausts, most guys end up spending money twice on cheap setup, then switching to something more expensive.. so you may want to save yourself some money and research whats out there, and save up for the one you really feel you want.

I think he's talking about getting a mail-in flash, and loading it himself.
