OBD Scan/Reset software for OpenPort cable?

I have the OpenPort cable for using EcuFlash and EvoScan. Is there a compatible software for this cable to read and reset the CEL?

Evoscan does not work yet for properly reading and resetting CELs on USDM Evos as far as I've experienced.

Yup, the current version (0.8) does not read or reset the CEL or codes.. Not to mention it lacks the snapshot retrieval too..

As far as I know, you might be able to use software that supports the USB serial chip in the openport cable.. Haven't actually tried it though.

Just to close this thread, MalibuJack has found a program called ScanTech which allows checking/resetting of OBD2 codes through the OpenPort cable.

FWIW, that tool looks pretty complete, though I've had difficulty getting it to connect to several vehicles. Looking with a scope it seems that some of the software generated timings are a little off (and some ECUs are very picky).

As a backup plan, if the CableTools control and tester I put out as open source for the OpenPort cable will establish an OBD-II connection with the ECU, I have a little utility I wrote for my own use that can be used to check and reset diagnostic codes I'd be happy to post. It's awfully crude though.

Uh, well the built ActiveX control and little test app can be downloaded here.

Hit the "Find" button to see if it is compatible with your OpenPort cable. Then pick OBD-II and press "Connect". If it can connect, I'll post the trouble code tool.

However, you might also want to check out the ScanTech tool that MJ is now supporting. If it connects with your ECU, it is a lot more complete than mine.

As for any other tools, well, you folks are on your own...

The control test just lets you know if an ODB-II connection can be established. There is a seperate little crude snapshot/clear/test app.

That source is also making the rounds, so hopefully someone like Malibu Jack can improve upon it.
