With a o2 simulator, yes.

the thing is that i had a the mechanical o2 sensor but it extended the sensor out way to far and when i was at the track the sensor smack against the chassis and broke so i really just want to remove it completely and was wondering if there a funstion in ecuflash that would do it?

No, there is currently no way to ignore the readings (or lack thereof) of the rear 02 sensor with a reflash.

Isn't there a way to splice something in the harness with the sensor removed totally without ecu noticing?

How broke is it? Maybe a cell fix plus your broke sensor might work

the sensor it self was completly broken and the car kept grounding itself and blowing fuses when we were at the track so i really dont want to get another o2 sensor and was trying to finds another altenative because in my opinion my car still makes the same power with or without that sensor. but i want the CEL to not be on all the time so if there was somthing wrong with the car i will know

go back and reread my post, you can remove the sensor totally using an o2 simulator.........SIMULATOR not cel fix, or ghetto anti-fouler, SIMULATOR

Evoippo,

You can try fliping the test pipe 180 degrees so that the 02 senor faces in a different direction.

Only when you use the stock cat you run out of room but then why to use a stock cat if you are planning on putting a CEL fix right?

I ran all 3 different possible configurations on my Evo 9 and never had any isues:

1) 3" HF cat
2) 3" test pipe
3) 3" resonator

What type of pipe are yu running? what type of o2 fooler are you using? they aren't that tall..

There is no reason to totally remove this sensor. Weight saving? lol

You can remove it totally with an 02 simulator and by copying the heater wire from the primary sensor.

I've been looking into this since yesterday but can't find an accurate IX ecu pinout that includes the heater wires. If you can help with this, i'll post a tutorial.

I've done this before on other cars. I run my other car off of a single 02 sensor (the car had 4 from the factory)

The anti-fouler method is definately cheap and easy, but why have the 02 sensor in there at all? Just remove it. It doesn't do anything anyway.

why do you need to "copy" the heater wire?
and what specifaclly do you mean by copy

I mean that there are 2 heater wires from 2 02 sensors.

OBDII systems check to see that the 02 sensor is working via the heater wire.
If you remove the secondary cat, you can copy the signal from the primary heater wire.

So more specifically, take the secondary heater wire from the removed 02 sensor and tap into the primary wire from the working 02 sensor.

There are two or three specific CEL codes you can throw with respect to the rear O2 sensor..

To remove it completely you need to substitute a load to replace the heater circuit (or tap off the circuit of the front sensor's heater circuit) The heater circuit can throw one type of CEL code..

The simulator/Antifouler reduces the second type of issue which is without a catalytic converter, the rear O2 sensor will read the same as the front.. Its a catalyst efficiency error (means its not working) So you address that..

The third type of error doesnt happen at all unless the sensor heater element is grounded out..

Right.
So to remove the sensor completely it's pretty simple.
1. Put in a simultor (to simulate a working catalytic converter)
2. Tap into the heater code for the primary sensor

That's it. You're done.
