Okay first things first. Please use the search function and you will find at least 3 tutorials. There is no software to buy, only the cable. The reason its "not working" for you is you dont have a .hex file downloaded yet. Go to OpenEcu.org, join, then look in the Evo VIII section and download one to look at. They are very easy to find.
THEN research. If this is your first time ever tuning EFI EVER, dont touch your car until you fully understand what changes affect what.

i was going to learn stuff first but i thought you could get an eflash and that that was easy to do and well i cant find any tutorials or the .hex file i dont know where to start looking, i dont even know what a .hex file is do i look in the forum of that site? and just so you know i dont have the cable or anything and im not hooking up to the evo i just wanted to see if i could download some of the softwear on my pc to see if i can open it and look around befor i did anything for real could this be a problem why im not able to open the files i download?
