As JCSBanks noted, w/ all the proper fields in place and calibrated (Desired Load, Load Offset, Wastegate Duty, and Boost Correction), you are running essentially full closed loop operation for the boost.

ok I reintall the hose with a #38 nitrous jet inside "easy to find than a #60 drill bit and ready to intall" and reassamble with 95 wastegate duty i got 21 psi peak and drop 1 or 2, and with 100WG duty about 24 psi .... the car in now running good and strong

The more I think about your equation EVO Kid it doesnt make sense, because if that applies on a EVO 9 it should apply to EVO 8 also. Load offset is 60 on evo 8 not 80 like evo 9 and you set boost desired engine load to 159.4 which = 20psi with restrictors in place and wastegate is already set at 100 and error correction is both the same on evo 8 and 9 you dont hit the load targets you specifying. I think it may be as simple as removing restrictors and then just reducing wastegate target and leaving the error the same.

Yeah, I havent done any testing on a VIII.

For just boosting 20-22lbs, it is as easy as just removing the restrictor (near the solenoid) and reducing WG duty a little.
To get race gas boost, you have to modify the restrictor near the turbo.

So what is max boost you can get leaving wastegate at 100 and removing both restrictors because I hit 260 load today for first time and my boost gauge red 23psi and in houston temp went down to from 80's to 60's and humidity dropped from 95 to 60 that is with restrictors in

If you remove the restrictor by the turbo, you can only get wastegate boost (w/ or w/o the solenoid restrictor).
I was able to boost 25.5lbs on my MAP sensor (was like 26-27 on the gauge), by replacing the restrictor near the turbo with a modified one and WG duty at 85. The solenoid restrictor was still intact.
I didnt log this run with EVOScan so I dont know the load.

True. Removing only the solleno pill, you can go up to 22/23 psi tape to 20/21 at 6000. You only need to manage well the boost with ECUFLASH to reach this result. Plus, you need to prevent boost leak with a good dump valve. And it should be not a problem.

I've already try to explain a couple of month ago on this site how it's possible to manage the boost using the stock ECU. My english is not fluent but i am trying my best to help guys.

To go higher than 22/23 psi you need to use a different pill close to the turbo.

I understand how it works to, what I posted was in respone to chrisw saying you could not boost over 20psi by removing the pill by the solenoid, and Evo_kid saying "with the pill near the solenoid removed raising the desired target load doesnt raise the boost." I probably miss understood what Evo_kid was saying (maybe he ment once wastegateduty was maxed out, at 100, you cannot raise the boost by raising the desired target load; which i would agree with). Yes I know to go higher then ~23psi you will need to modify the pill size near the turbo.

did it just spike at 23psi and come back down to ~20psi? or did it hold 23psi? if you have error correction was enabled and your offset is 60, and desired load was 159 your load values should have come back down from 260.

keep in mind I have an '03. At 20 psi, I think the solenoid becomes the biggest restriction keeping the boost down. That fits well with how the system works. The solenoid bleeds off air to keep the wastegate from charging.

Thinking about this, I would be curious to see if the boost solenoids are the same on a VIII and IX.

Question on high gears and max wastegate duty:

Using 3rd gear I was able to set my boost to hold to 22psi till 6000, then tapers to 20psi at 6500.

But when I tried a high gear pull (2500 rpm) let say 5th or 6th, my boost goes all the way to 24psi at 3000rpm to 4000rpm (I let it go once it hits that high).

2nd gear to 4th gear is working great, 5th and 6th are overboosting.

Does this have anything to do with max wastegate duty #1 and #2? Which one do you set for low gears and high gears?

It has to do with LOAD on the engine, which is alot in 5th/6th at WOT. More load, more pressure.

I know that, but its been posted before that Max wastegate #1 and #2 can change settings base on load/gears, see here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...wastegate+duty

Does this have anything to do with Turbo boost error correction? mine is all 1/2 of stock.

The load values did come back down from 260, but of course that is normal because your passing peak torque. The boost gauge still ready steady at 23psi. Added the error correction back and now it holds at 20psi. Before when I had the boost taper though my gauge would go from 20psi and then back down to 17 once I had passed peak torque.
