I have a question??
What is the correct baud rate for my '06 EVO 9 MR.
I got it some what close with 16200
Can some one please shed some light on this matter for me!!
Also if there are any other settings that I can change within the EvoScan
program for my specific application would be helpfull as well.

Thank's in Advance

I have a bunch of friends with 2G DSMs, and I've been logging their cars with EvoScan... A couple have DSM link, a couple others have an SAFC. I have a bunch of questions, if anyone can answer...

1) Is KnockSum when logging a 2G DSM comparable to logging an Evo? ie., 0-2 is mostly safe, 3 or more you're in danger? One of the guys has straight 1 KnockSum from the second he gets on WOT to the second he lets off

2) Is OctaneLevel when logging a 2G DSM comparable to logging an Evo? Same guy as above has OctaneLevel go from high 90's down to as low as 15 at WOT

3) If I was to tune AFR with EvoScan without a wideband, what do I log for narrowband and how do I make use of narrowband numbers?

4) What is the typical timing map for a 2G DSM? Should cruise be similar to an Evo (30's) and then WOT ramp down to ~4 at peak torque and up to ~12 by redline ?

Thanks in advance.

1. Knocksum is the same between the ECUs as far as I have seen. I used to have DSMLink on my DSM.

2. Octane level is the same.

3. Don't use narrowband to tune AFRs.

4. That is completely car specific. There isn't any one setting that will work for all cars. That is what tuning is all about, finding the settings that each car likes. The stock 2G timing map, in the highest load column (over 2.1g/rev of airflow) maxed at 16degrees, if that helps at all, but your DSMLink friends know this and with DSMLink you don't tune the maps. You have timing sliders that adds timing to a specific RPM range.

Also, out or curiosity, why aren't your DSMLink friends using DSMLink to log? The DSMLink client lets them log a lot more than EvoScan can at this point in time, especially changes specific to the code changes that the DSMLink guys have made to the ECU.

Note: Even though knocksum and octane are the same in DSMs and Evos, make sure that the request ID is the same. I'm too lazy to check while I am writing this, but you can easily find this information floating around. Also, keep in mind that DSMLink is a 95 EEPROM ECU in which the code has been rewritten in many places or additional code added. So, the common request IDs may or may not work. It's been a while since I have messed with DSMLink, but for their cars, just use the DSMLink client. You will have a ton more ability with the DSMLink client than with EvoScan.

Ok, I'm such a newb with EvoScan...after I put in my e-mail addy when I am loading EvoScan it asks for my serial number. What the heck is my serial number? I looked on the PayPal receipt, but didn't see anything.

THanks.

It's not sent in your receipt. You are supposed to take another step after the purchase, but I guess you didn't see the link (like a lot of people). You need to write an e-mail to evo4mad and he should send you the serial. His e-mail address should be on the EvoScan site.

For some reason I cannot log the LM1 with Mitsulogger. I can do it with Evoscan, but not Mitsulogger. Any ideas why?

That's interesting, maybe you should have bought a ZEITRONIX WIDEBAND as we have no problems logging with either EVOSCAN or MITSULOGGER.

Oops I didn't notice this post about the MitsuLogger.. here is my question again.. thx

So far I have the mitsulogger working great, and the LC-1 with logworks working great as well. But when I try to datalog my LC-1 with the Mistulogger, its only reads 7.35 a/f no matter what I do.

I ran the Install Innovative Bat file that comes with the mitsulogger to get it working, is there anything else I need to do. I ran the uninstall Bat as well, restarted but still no luck?

Any Suggestions? thanks!

Check your baud rate. By default I believe its 15625. This sounds like exactly what happens when it is too high.
