ECUFlash / Evoscan / Mitsulogger Questions
You have probably messed up the immobilizer code. Do you still have the backup ROM you read from the car before you flashed a new one? If you open that up in EcuFlash there's an "Immobilizer Code" table which you need to copy to the new ROM and re-flash it.
If you didn't make a backup... well.. you should have read the guides on how to do it first!
Luckily if you absolutely need to you can disable the immobilizer completely, but that will let someone start the car with a screwdriver.

No, didn't back up anything because i thought it was useless anyways.. I just wanted my car to run like a stock EVO. My key didn't have a chip built into it AFAIK...
How do i disable the immobililzer? Can i enable it somehow after i hear how it's running? Or can i just get the immobilzer code from the dealership?

Open up the rom in EcuFlash, look down the bottom of the list of tables for "ECU Periphery0 (FAA) Bits". That table contains 16 options which may or may not be labelled. You need to change the 4th from the bottom from 1 to 0. If you don't have the "ECU Periphery 0 (FAA) Bits" table, you may have one just labelled "ECU Periphery0 Hex". If you just have that one, give me the single value in that table which will probably look like 52D8 or something close.
"Disable EGR / Enabled Ign Adv (set bit=0)
timing knockdown on light acceleration and less than 3000rpm
Enable Warmup Ign Retard
bit.8
Enable High Oct Ign Map Lookup (and many other subroutines)
"WG solenoid? Enable Speed Limit Test"
bit.5
for full time open loop set to 0
Immobilizer (1=enable 0=disable)
bit.2"
Like that?
EDIT: They are all grey'd out.. I can't open them unless i right click 'edit map'

Does it turn over and die a couple of seconds after it starts or does it sound like it's not firing at all and just using the starter motor? Or does it just click when you turn the ignition key?
It may be that the immobilizer cut is incorrectly labelled on your ROM, I have no idea if it works or not. I know that I have done the same thing on a Tephra 96530706 rom and that worked (I initially had trouble copying across the immobilizer code). You *could* try that. You can get the rom and XML definitions from https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...hramod-v7.html
I'd give the 96530706 ROM a go rather than the others because this one is closer to a "universal" evo 7/8 ROM. This is probably getting a bit more involved than I would have suggested for a complete newbie to ecuflash, but having not taken a backup you're going to have to dive right in to get it fixed.
What I can say is that you haven't irreversibly messed it up, but it's going to take some work to get it fixed.

Not firing at all, just using starter motor..
What frustrates me the most is how a supposed stock OEM ROM is not working even with the Immobilizer disabled..Leads me to think i might of screwed up something even before i flashed it by replacing the orig. .xml files in the rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo directory...

I think i've been doin something totally wrong here from start..
I just download the 96530706-TephraMod an it came as a compressed folder with 2 files in it. 1 of them was a bin file an the other was a xml doc...
I moved the xml file into the rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo folder and then moved the ROM file to my desktop..
I try to open the ROM file an get that damn 'Unknown ROM image' prompt again!!! Where am i suppose to move the Rom file?

The XML files control how EcuFlash modifies the ROM image. You can open up a ROM image without the appropriate XML files, follow through the wizard so that it opens up (with no useful definition) and write it to the ECU. That bit will work fine. You just need the XML files so you can make some modifications to the ROM before you write it.
The tephra XML requires 96530006.xml to be available too. I've attached it here, download it, rename it to 96530006.xml (it's .txt now) and save it to your rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo directory. Then close ecuflash and try to open the tephra ROM again.

So i got the immobilizer code from a buddy who works at the mitsubishi dealership so that problem is fixed..phew! But I can't seem to change the txt file into .xml file. I renamed it but when i right-click an go to properties, it still shows it as a txt file... Can you just upload the xml version of it?
Edit: NVM, under folder options, it was hiding extension...
So i did tryed to change it but it says there is an existing file already with that name.

This forum won't let you upload .xml files.
Just grab the appropriate XML file from http://www.evoscan.com/roms/mitsubishi/

I have a feeling it's this stupid BETA version of ECUflash that is giving me all the issues. Is there a list of all the previous versions of ECUflash from reliable sources. Can't find it on Evoscan website...
http://code.google.com/p/ecurom/sour...ols%2FEcuFlash has lots of older versions.
