Quick question. I have an evo 9 GT wagon (has it's own unique ROM) and the stationery rev limit is set at 7969. It seems as though it's been set to be disabled from the factory. To activate it, do I need to do anything else other than lower the figure?

Also, there are a few tephra tables in my XML that haven't been set (e.g. knocksum for CEL is 65535). If I flash without putting figures into these tables could it do any harm?

Cheers.

lower it and it will become active..

no the 65535 is just because the address is pointing to the wrong sub routine code. the address is linked in the xml file. it has no impact on the actual rom image unless you alter that number then write new data to the rom.

Thanks, I remember reading something about launch maps. I can't remember where. My friend has been going on about how great his is in his 9 gsr even though I told him how to use it. Will try it out very soon.

Just flashed with a 4k (for now) stationery limit. Works mint, cheers heaps.

So the tephra is wrong for my ROM? The knocksum for CEL has the wrong address and shouldn't be touched?

Good, now raise it to about 6,000 and put it to work.

I downloaded mitsulogger a few months ago, I can't remember where I got it from. I found this link in another thread http://evoecu.logic.net/mirror/svn/tools/MitsuLogger/

I don't know if it works, but evoecu is really reliable source for a lot of tuning resources.

Edit: I have the zip file on my computer, I can post it if it's ok with the rules.

I've had it 6 months (despite spending most my life around performance cars I've only recently got one), I'm still going over the car. I keep finding stuff in it and about it. I've got no use for the gizzmo launch interface now. Clutch is dragging, pedal has been adjusted correctly, huge improvement but still dragging a bit.

That said: Night speed drag wars (our annual drag competition for street cars) is up and going..............mighty tempting.

yes either that or your xml has false info in it. do not touch it if the values read like that.

set your 2 step to around 5500 and youll get perfect launches. you'll notice 5500 rpm will be actually around 5700 also when you test it.

when you launch slip the clutch slow.. never leave it up fast or u will blow your drivetrain out.

Thanks heaps. I'm going to move into this at a moderate pace so I will work my way towards 5500, I have very few launches under my belt and I can't afford to break anything.

I noticed when I set it to 4k, the RPM actually sat just above. That's because of the multiple translations of code between ecuflash and the ecu? or the ecu has trouble controlling the RPM exactly when doing stationery rev limit?

Edit: I got 6-7 psi of boost at 4k, does that increase with RPM or is that what is expected?

Lol, that might be good for the street. I leave at 6,000 when im at the track...anything lower and the car does'nt leave as hard.

I make about 10 psi at 6,000 without using launch maps.
