That's my purchase order with Evoscan included
1.3R cant be used to flash with Ecuflash!!! It doesnt contain the Ecuflash licence.

You must use Evoscan to reflash with the 1.3R

It clearly says this in the product info!!!

"This cable is really an OpenPort 1.3U cable but without the $40 license it costs to use EcuFlash. You can use this cable for full datalogging capabilities, but it has one more advantage than EvoScan 1.3D cable, and that is that you can use this cable with EvoScan v2.7 or EvoScan v2.8 for Reflashing Evo7, 8, or 9."

Read the ecu with evo scan... Have giant 512KB file now... It's a HEX file. Doesn't open properly in notepad or excel...

now you can open and edit the file with ecuflash. but use EvoScan to write the file back to the vehicle, or you can use the map tracer screen in EvoScan to edit the Fuel and Timing maps. right click the map tracer rom editor to see the options.

okay. if i open that 512KB file in ECUflash it wants a lot of information entered... i have to choose it as a copied or inhereited from another ROM or say scratch.. if i say scratch i have to enter hex and byte values and then multiple more boxes after that... is there a thread on how to do this? or can someone call me and walk me through? i just want to able to pass my rear 02 sensor CEL... =(

Find out your ROM ID and make sure you have the definition file for it. Your definition files are stored in the rom meta data folders. I wouldn't reccomend creating your own definition files if you're new to ecu flash. If you have a USDM EVO it shouldn't be hard to find a good definition file.

Are you opening in ECUFlash or evoscan? You want ECUFlash to open and edit. If you want you could post your ROM up I can have a go at opening it. If you can't or don't want to post it PM me and I could give my email.

Hope someone can help, my wideband worked fine then a day later im getting this error. AEM ERROR: conversion from string "1v.7" to type "Double" is not valid. the "1v.7" will change as the numbers on the wideband itself changes. Also in evo scan it will come up right for a split second then nothing. i checked the wiring, tried another laptop, uninstalled and reinstalled evoscan and still the same error. Any help would be great , also its evo scan 2.7

done a bunch of reading and searching but i need to ask:
With the 1.3U evoscan cable, if i use ECUflash do i still need to get EVOscan for logging etc? Or does ECuflash have logging built in now?

I would like to display some gauges and information on the laptop, i think this is possible with evoscan, is it possible with ECUflash or is ECUflash strictly only for tuning and flashing the ECU and nothing else (sorry, bit new to evos)

Thanks!

ECUFlash is for flashing and editing maps only. Mitsulogger is a free data logger if you can find a download for it. People have been having trouble finding one recently.

yes EvoScan displays custom gauges, and datalogs, and reflashes, and does virtual dyno, and does map editing, and does map tracing. see the evoscan website for details.
