Clutch pedal position sensor

Not the clutch interlocking switch (reverse kill switch), I'm talking about the other one higher up.

The only info on it I can find is that the ECU pulls injector volume whenever this switch is closed (clutch depressed between shifts).

Does anyone know by what mechanism or what other input conditions are required to run this low fuel flow mode?

This is on an VIII, not sure about if the XI has it

I may have to pull some logging data with the switch in my hand

I'm concerned because if you adjust your clutch pedal lower to floor (common with some aftermarket pressure plates) this switch is made with pedal up if it wasn't also adjusted.

Thanks

so it's not the one for the stationary rev limiter? so you're saying there's a 3rd switch on the pedal? i'll have to check that out tommorrow when it's light out.

he might be talking about the switch closer to the fuse box behind the dimmer switch, its for 2 step.

I had my switch removed but hooked up (normally closed contacts) which is the same as hardwired.

I was affraid that the car was running in reduced fuel injection volume after discovering this, but the schematic shows a parallel circuit in the ECU which may have "AND" - so maybe it only runs low volume when the switch is made (clutch depressed) and perhaps closed loop.

I guess I'll have to ask the open ecu folks

I have the clutch wired from the ecu directly to ground, the car runs fine in closed loop and open loop. I'm wondering what it really effects.. I found if I didn't have it grounded the car wouldnt start.

I did my first "test" ECUflash to set the stationary rev limiter in my '03 for launch control, and I love it!
Okay - here's my question:
The post above makes it look like it cuts fuel when the clutch is depressed between gears - does this mean we have flat-foot-shifting?

No, that is a "Stationary Rev Limiter" exactly like it reads. If the car is rolling it wont work.

ok, so I have been going insane with this hanging throttle on my 06 evo. this is the only post I can find regarding the clutch position switch. the reason I am looking into it is because, I noticed that when downshhifting or letting off the gas, the car does not engine break initially. it hangs, then after an undertermined amount of delay, usually around 4000rpm and below, the car will induce engine braking. the other thing i noticed is that if you push slightly on the clutch pedal is starts to engine brake. It looks like this switch has somethign to do with it. but it also looks like you cant just unplug it either. another thing i noticed is in the fuel maps which confirms what others with wide bands have posted. it still delivers fuel at 14.7. Im pretty dam confused about all this. someone helps us out, because there are a ton of people having this issue. thanks

I'm running an APS intake and during normal driving if you touch the clutch pedal when you are starting to lift the throttle you can actually hear it open the diverter valve.

I've also found that in those cases where you are at real light throttle but accelerating and some dork pulls a right turn without signaling that if you can just tap the clutch you won't get that surge when you close the throttle suddenly.
