I have the exact same question. Actaully, when I log with Evoscan I do get values that show up in the JDMMAP column but they are a bit higher than what my boost gauge reads and what my car was supposedly tuned at. Is the JDMMAP column the one to check if I'm logging boost or should I be looking somewhere else? If that is the right column and my car is logging it then perhaps I just need to correct for the elevation??? Any thoughts and help would be appreciated!

If you look at the sensor you will see the part number on it. If it is a jdm\X sensor then you will read 1865A052 if you have the one bar sensor it is md305600.
The new ralliart also have the jdm sensor.

it shows something wrong... There is 30.9 psig everywhere when the boost present. May be i should change the formula in evoscan or something else?

Does anybody knows it?

JDM MAP Changes USDM Evo IX(88590015 )

When using ROM ID: 88590015 and trying to change all the values from the USDM to the JDM values:

0.51 20
0.90 40
1.29 57
1.68 78
2.07 97
2.46 117
2.85 138
3.24 158
3.63 255

I have an issue setting the some voltage in the tenth value. This is the closest Im allowed to choose. When trying to manually set the value; it defaults to the closest lower value;

0.51 20
0.90 40
1.29 57
1.68(1.67) 78
2.07(2.07) 97
2.46(2.45) 117
2.85(2.84) 138
3.24 158
3.63 255

How safe would it be to set it to the higher value:

0.51 20
0.90 40
1.29 57
1.68(1.69) 78
2.07(2.08) 97
2.46(2.47) 117
2.85(2.86) 138
3.24 158
3.63 255

I also have an issue seeting the MAP Comparison table. It only takes 14.5 or 14.7

Or is there a way to tweak it to the correct exact value: PLEASE HELP!

couple small issues

I recently installed the JDM 3 bar in my 04 EVO (ROM ID 96420011). There wasn't an exact patch for my specific ROM, so I just used the 96420008 patch and changed the settings according to what mrfred suggested in his post. The logging aspect works great. I made the altitude corrections to the formula in EVOScan and I'm reading .0003psi with the engine off and key ON, which is pretty damn close in my book. The problem I'm having however is with startup and driveability.

When the car cold starts the RPM sits @ 2k for a little while, where previously it would drop down to 900ish right after start up. Not sure how long its sitting @ 2k RPM because I ususally start moving after I start the car, but I would guess a couple minutes or until the car is warm enough.

The next issue I'm having is with driveability. It seems at low RPM the car likes to buck now, and doesn't feel as smooth as it used to. Things are fine higher in the R's, but down low at slower speeds its def. not a smooth as it was before I changed the settings for the sensor. The last issue I'm having is that the car will drop the idle down to like 500 RPM sometimes when sitting at a light. It will feel like it wants to stall, and has done it once.

I know these issues have something to do with the patch/setting, and me not using the correct ROM, because before I did all that the car was super smooth with the V5.10. I was hoping someone could tell me what settings I need to adjust on the new MAP tables in order to fix, or attempt to fix it. Or atleast where I should start looking.

I can probably work around this by adjusting things not related to the sensor maps, but I'd rather not start messing with my timing & fueling maps in that area because I spent a lot of time previously on them before I changed the settings, and like I said the car was BUTTER smooth to drive previously. TIA for any help.

to hopefully help in figuring out my problem, here are the table values that were different in my ROM compared to the instructions.

instructions say:

MAP Test 4: Max Minus Min -- Change from 1.80 volts to 0.51 volts.
my ROM had the original value of 1.50 instead of the 1.80 above

instructions say:

"EGR MAP Offset #1" should read:

750 97
1000 86
1250 75
1500 67
1750 52
2000 56
2500 65
3000 63
3500 60

my ROM originally read:

1500 97
1750 86
2000 75
2559... 67
1364... 52
2559... 56
1373... 65
35 63
750 60

here is a screen shot for reference. modified ROM on the top row and original ROM on the bottom.

I just noticed I never disabled the EGR test. I'm going to do that now and see if it makes a diff. I doubt it, but its worth a try.

Have you tried a stock ROM, then retuning one table at a time. Doing that may help expose the culprit.

I "think" I may have figured out how to fix my problem, or atleast part of it.

I noticed the RPM scaling was the part of my EGR map that was all screwed up, with that I guessed maybe the address for RPM wasn't right in the formula for my ROM. So I took the values in that definition and looked thru the ROM to find another RPM address that matched. Turns out the Baro pressure compensation table is similar in the number of elements it uses. So I just copied that address over to the EGR map tables. Using the Baro RPM address changed the RPM values on the EGR MAP to what the baro MAP was showing, but I just changed them back and modified the baro MAP values.

I also changed the defination in the ROM itself to point to the new address. Still haven't flashed the car with the new rom yet. Can anyone tell me if it might work or not?

following up on my own progress here

what I posted above with regard to the RPM address didn't seem to fix the problem.

Guess I'm left with two options here, remove the 3 bar, change back the code and just continue to log boost in LogWorks w/my GM 3bar, or switch to a more supported ROM for my VIII...
