more knock in higher gear

Hello all.
well, I have been adjusting maps and so far, had no problem in 3rd wot and i am quite happy at this point with current tunning.
I rarely get knock sum 2-3 under 1-2-3rd gear wot but just noticed that i am getting quite a few more knock(5-9) under4th or 5th gear. and it's not even under wot, partial throttle in rpm around 3k with boost in 0.5 and 1.0bar. I am sure i will have more knock under wot in higher gear.

is this normal? or should fix all the knock business in higher gear?

Chong

The higher the gear the higher the load.

It also doesn't help that the ECU seems to be the most sensitive to engine noise/knock activity in that RPM range (around 3000 RPM).

I've seen small amounts of knock sum before WOT too. it is not indicative of more knock at WOT.

however it has been my practice to tune out any knock sum (within reason) because a short term logging session does not replicate a twenty minute binge at the track.

i seem to be experiencing something similar. my 3rd gear pulls are almost knock free. my car is very sensitive after 5000rpm. even though i don't knock in 3rd, when i do a pull in 4th, it knocks (5counts that slowly degrade to 1 by 6200rpm) at 5200rpm+. the load in 4th is only 10 more and is very close to 3rd gear's load cell. i guess this means i gotta pull a degree out now...
