yes ya will probably need a JDM exhaust manifold with the holes for the banjo bolts, the SAS pipework, the SAS Valve, a new IC to Intake pipe with the extra fitting for the SAS pipe, the SAS Valve solenoid and wiring back to your ECU,
you will also need to install the vacuum line to the SAS valve through the solenoid,
then activate the software in the rom and test it out,

Wow, that sounds like a lot of hardware. I bet we could get away with just drilling into the USDM exhaust mani's though so scratch that heavy item off the list. I bet the physical ECU on both cars is also different so I'm not sure how we can wire in those cables. If I'm wrong, and I hope I am, we could just install the cables to the same pins that the JDM is hooked up to and somehow incorporate the ALS tables. Or possibly just run the JDM map entirely? The only difference at this point would be the AYC.

Keep us posted if you can locate any SAS (btw what does this stand for?) hardware. This is probably still the best option for ALS in USDM cars if one plans to keep their turbo for awhile.

Would also be awesome if you could get a video of yours in action

SAS is technically Secondary Air System, though I have also heard it means Soft Antilag System. Eitherway its not quite the real deal. Theoretically you can get a header and UICP (the Greddy/Trust one) that are ready for the hardware in between. Its a matter of getting the hardware in between though.

The Megan manifold has the ports for the SAS as well.

yep as soon as I get it running I will post a vid for ya,
SAS= Secondary Air System,
wouldnt mind but a lot of people have removed the SAS system on their evos over here as it was thought it was useless,
its been incorporated in the evo since 1994 in the Evo 4,
I am sure locating the hardware will be pretty easy,
as for the ECU I am pretty sure the USDM ECU can Handle the SAS system,
its wired into pin 53 of the 4 plug ecu,
as for the ACD its controlled by a seperate ecu, called the 4WD ECU, located behind the centre console, so changing out your USDM ecu for a JDM one should be no major issue,

some pics of the workshop manual for SAS

Chaps my dealer has come good. He has two sets of SAS hardware which he'll let me have for the equivalent of US$35 each.

I'll need to ensure they're complete, and work out shipping, but let me know if you're interested.

If there's no interest I won't get them, because I don't need them, but if there is interest I will source them and post pictures for you to see what you get.

It should include the SAS pipework, the SAS Valve, the SAS Valve solenoid and wiring back to your ECU.

And I'll take the other! YGPM Youngsyr.

I proved (2) incorrect. I tested this by adding an another table with a random address value and the ROM's I tried to load could not use create tables with these addresses. My thinking is that the reason the XML code loaded in the first place was that these addresses are already referenced in the USDM ECU, but just not showing. I am using and edited 88590013.

Silex that was also 4 months ago. Things change very fast in this forum. I bet before too long someone will announce that they have the defs for knock control (more than just on or off), the max load issue, and how to get the evo to time travel at 88.8mph...

hehehe

Sorry, I'm still getting caught up in the reading I am quoting posts as I go, haha. One thing I was wondering. Once the XML is added, it pushes the Turbo tree up to the top of the list under ROM Info and lists all the ALS settings in blue font. Why? Then again there are a few built-in settings that are this way too: Knock Sensor Filter Map 1-12 & Init Code.

*FIXED* the issue about why trees were mixed up. I edited the 88590013 XML. Put that back to original and added the code to evo9base (inherited parent) and all is well now. I prefer to the edit the latter for code that all Evo9 ROM files can use.

For anybody looking for SAS hardware, I've seen a few pop up on forum below:
http://www.lancerregister.com/

*EDIT* Found Youngsyr on there looking for SAS hardware for us
*EDIT2* Found a link on how to remove the SAS hardware. Installation should be the reverse

Chaps, flashed the ALS to my car after getting the parameters set by an experienced friend.

I can now set a rev limiter where the engine pops and bangs and produces boost of .25 bar whilst standing still, but couldn't get pops and bangs whilst running for some reason. We're all still working on the parameters, so I'll keep you informed.
