I am confident the connections are ok and I picked the right car.

When I try to read the image, I hear a couple clicks under the dash and if I wait long enough, after the SES light goes off, it will go back on when I try to connect.

Evoscan works fine as well. I tried to reinstall ecuflash after removing it and nothing changed. I am using v1.30.

Has this car been tuned before?

If so, they have locked you ecu and you will not be able to read or right to it until you go to www.aktivematrix.com and get the unlocker software.

You will need to register there and go to the downloads section and go to the ecuflash addons section.

Yes, it was flashed from the previous owner. I don't know who did the flash though. Thanks for the tip though.

sounds familiar doesn't it Brad.. unfortunately most tuners lock you out of your own ECU... lovely aint it

p.s. I don't do that, it's your ECU, not mine.

So what do I do now?

I tried that unlocker but I just don't get it. I DL'd the program it says to use and when I tried to open the unlocker it asks what program I want to use to open it with.

The framework program is in my laptop but I don't have an icon to choose it.

I am really starting to get pissed off.

I dunno. I am really good with electrical parts, alarms, navs and other accesories like that but don't know computer stuff to well.

I do know I installed .netframework 1.1 to use evoscan and did the same setup, that works fine.

Now the unlocker is asking for which program to use to open it up. I am lost.

The files must be still in rar format.
so you'll need winace or any program that opens rar files.
then use it to extract the files to wherever you want, desktop, etc..
then all you do is start ecu unlocker and let it run in background then open up ecuflash. voila. you are in..

Just went through all this.
GL, it's easy..
