Open Loop Load 1 & 2

Maybe I missed the thread , but even after an exhaustive search I failed to find out exactly what these do. Now the old adage is if it isnt broke dont fix it, or in this case tune it.

The VIII is scaled differently both in RPM and values from the IX. The IX stops at 5750 where the VIII goes to 7500. The IX peaks at like 125 where the VIII is 88. Then there is the JDM IX which has higher average numbers over all and both maps are the same whereas the US cars are different from 1 to 2, 2 being higher.

Ideas, links, etc.?

The load value where the ECU crosses over to open-loop.
I've set my idle RPM to 0 load and it caused my car to idle in open-loop.
I forget which is which but I believe map 2 is warmed up operation.

Roger thank you so much. This makes alot of things easier, as well makes me feel foolish cause the answer has been staring me in the face all this time.

I think map 2 is for when the Air Con is on,

Also don't forget that throttle percentage can also force open load (the other 2 tables )

Well I was trying to get it go into open loop at an idle but no dice. I am however cruising at 15.5 AFR's in open loop. No tip-in issues yet

Transition from lean AFR's to rich and then boost. It can cause a hesitation or bogging.

When I first joined this site last year, i asked about tuning in full time open loop. Didn't get much response at all:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=213945

I have read that the easiest way to stay in open loop is to change the minimum coolant temp to an unattainable value. I don't know where that setting is, though.

Nice! I never thought about the open loop throttle tables like that, it makes perfect sense now hehe. Good things to know if you are getting tip in issues. Sometimes thats the hardest thing to tune...dont want too rich or the turbo will spool slower, but too lean and knocks like a sob

You have to look up the def from an 03-05 where it has been written in the xml and add it to the IX. The addresses are the same I am just lazy and didnt look it up for this post. The thing is if you do that one of two things happens: It stays in warm up mode and dumps more fuel, or if you adjust the min temp for closed loop too high it will throw a code.
