Hey guys, if this has been asked before, sorry, i wasnt sure what to search for exactly.

I am using ecuflash 1.29 to tune with.... i have an 06. I can read my map just fine as well as most other cars. Tonight i tried pulling a map off of my buddies 05 and it came up with unknown rom or something to that effect and it went thru that whole what do i want to do thing, define image from and gave me a drop down list.

Later on I tried pulling a map from another 05 and it wouldnt work either. It was the same thing. It would read the ecu, but couldnt interpret the data. I installed 1.28 on my other drive on my laptop and it was just fine.

Does anyone know what i need to do in order to get 1.29 to read the 05 maps ? or how to fix that error if it happens again ?

I've tried using 1.30 and i always get the same error, unable to connect to vehicle interface. i've tried using the old drivers and that didnt fix that problem either.

What version Rom on the 05? I dont think that it would be the cause but I am just curious. I personally havent had any issues with interface issues as long as the car was at least a little warm. In cold weather I have encountered flash errors because the ECU apparently wasnt up to temp.

 

we drove 45 minutes to the track, and i tried immediately after that. This use to happen to me before. In order to use 1.29 on the map after i open it with 1.28, i have to open another 05 map and copy and paste everything... what a pain in the rear...
