unless of course that is your normal "hit it " point.
I start my pulls at 3400 rpm, why should I tune in a region I have never driven, let alon beat on the car?

I think its good to at least look at the area for a pull from low rpm, but other than the occasional quick pull to pass on the highway I always drop at least 1 gear and go. Difference in drving style usually also means a difference in tuning style.

Yep that was my point exactly . If its enabled and you want the AFRs to stay the same after 7000rpm you actually have to have the target AFRs in the map leaner than the cells above 7k when its enabled.

Start your pulls at 2000 or so. If you knock at 3500 you actually have to look at the cells slightly before 3500, IE: the 3000rpm cells. Not only that but you can't get a good reading on load at 3500 if your hitting it at 3400 because of the boost transition. Correctly tuned you should have no problem starting pulls at 2000rpm's. It lets the motor settle out and minimizes any harsh inputs such as throttle changes that effect things. Properly tuned you should now be able to stab the gas at 3400 and all should be fine.

newb question on the discrepancy b/w log and afr table in ecuflash:

So in the first post, lets take his log and b/w 6-7K, the load is 209-199 and the afr is 11.1 to 10.4
When you go to his EcuFlah AFR map, interpolating b/w the 200-220 columns, afr is 9.3 to 9.0

3 words, wtf?

Can someone help me understand the difference?

The readings in the map do not represent real AFR values. You need to get a wideband to see what the actual AFR at that point in time is.

A good place to start is here:
