As others have already said - hook up a strong battery charger and put it on the high setting. Also be sure to turn off anything using power (stereo, amps, EBC, TT, etc.).

I'm not a fan of the jumper cable or running car solution, myself.

I just had this problem couple months ago, haha, it's easy, if it's not the battery, or the laptop problem, then it's the tactrix cable itself. I got a new replacement from tactrix and it solved the problem. Trust me on this one, i was so frustrated, and I used my buddy's laptop, try to reflash differ evo, both 8 and 9 and install differ version and I finally narrow it down.

yes, the cable could be the problem. but in my case, it is not. my cable works with my car flawlessly, and works with over 20 other evo's that i have used it on..it only doesn't work with 2 of my friend's evos..so i know it isnt the cable..so it must be the battery...

Only if the ECU has been "locked" by a previous flash.
