For this particular ROM both the tables looked exactly like the Open Loop Load #1 table. I altered only the cruise are of the map in this example, but I have changed the whole map (1&2) to 45% and have no adverse effects.

Would you mind showing this section of your high octane map?

john with enough questions asked the market for the $200 ecu flash 20 hp will slowly disappear which it should. More people need to know that ecuflash is free and with a cheap cable and some basic searching alot of the simple tuning can be done diy and really the only pay for tuning needs to be done with turbo and cam upgrages or meth or water injection.

Turn your boost down and add more timing... That will get you better gas milage as well.

In respoect to that; ECU Tunning was neevr as easily interfaced via USB. Then it was the problem of buying the the software which is now free. Logging software still costs cash. But as far as trusting a person to tell you what your car feels like; who better to do it then the owner.... :-)

I really guess I should've added you a latop or a computer within a few feet of the car. If no laptop then drag you pc to the garage and get a longer usb (male to female) cable. So the cable and logging software can be had for < $100. You have to ask yourself 1.Can you read 2. can you operate a computer 3. do you have a laptop or know some who does or a pc? If you can answer yes to those 3 than you can do exactly what all those mail in flash guys can do too. I come from the dsm community where if this access to tuning was as simple and cheap the $200 guys wouldn't exist. DIY save the money and get a wb road tune only when you've added enough extra parts making it neccesary. I have heard of far too many people paying too much money on tunes and even more that pay time again for retunes. John you will still have a job because you are smart and have skills and I think it only shows you kindness and willing help others without being greedy and that is always rewarded in ways far greater than cash.......

Thanks for this info, i'll see how these changes help, I'm getting real crummy gas mileage still (210-225 full tank w/mostly highway miles)

John,

Should I just log partial throttle then to get an idea of open loop?

Also, in your high octane fuel map you've adjusted the fuel up to 3500, you think there would be any adverse effects if I did this all the way to 4000 since I'm a 5-speed it would be more beneficial for me as im crusing at higher rpms at the same speed.

Have you also played with the Open Loop Throttle tables? What is their purpose?
