ECUFlash Tune Milage and Mods
I played with this earlier and my O2Feedback data shows the ECU still running in Closed Loop even though the Load & RPM values indicate I should be in Open Loop. Car only has K&N drop in and the Open Loop Load#2 values are set at 45.0 from 2000 - 4000.
Any ideas ?

I am about to start making my own MPG map.
So what has been everyone seeing for before and after results?
Also - did you make changes to the timing maps (lower timing)? Or does just leaning the fuel map do the trick (without adding knock).

I went from about 21 to 25 mpg. The car was already tuned, just not optimized for cruising mileage.
I only modified fuel (for mpg purposes) so no timing changes are needed.

I noticed tonight after setting both load maps at 45% that my coolant needle seems to fluctuate a LOT, no abnormal ambient temps, and can be replicated via turning on/off the HVAC. Kind of odd, does map #1 correlate to t-stat by any chance? Never happened when only map #2 was changed.

t-stat is mechanical. But there are fans would turn on if the car thought it was overheating (or when you turn on the AC).
We got a foot of snow here in mid-Ohio (getting my Evo out of winter storage). I will be doing the MPG mod later today. If the same thing happens to me, Ill report back here.

I cannot replicate it, and it only happened AFTER I changed both maps to 45%; before when I only had map #2 @45% it had never happened. Then again other than snow, there wasn't any noticeable difference in ambient temps. :shrugs:. I'm leaving both maps at 45 and seeing if it happens again.

I just did the af map and open-loop mods. Nothing happened here with the HVAC and temp gauge. Ill keep my eye on it though.
And I topped off the tank. I have to drive from Cleveland to Ann Arbor tomorrow - so I will have a good idea of MPG change by the end of that run.

For the 5sp guys - first testing the MPG mod on my car here. Just did 260 miles @ 3500ish RPM (about 75/80)...only got 23 MPG (normal). I did not change the values past 3500 on my af map. I have updated my map to the 4000 ranges. Ill post back with that data.
