MWGDC and TBEC Tables?

Has anyone been able to determine why there are 4 tables each? At least that is the way that it is in my ROM on my VIII.

I have been reading through allot of the boost control threads and have not come across a clear answer. I know that most set them all the same to tune, but I have to think that there is a reason they are different. Possibly the different tables point to variables such as gear, temperature, etc.

Trying to gather as much data as possible before starting to tune boost with the ECU. Previous experience has all been with the UTEC and GM BCS in open loop boost control which just controls the solenoid duty cycle directly.

I don't think anyone has nailed down the exact reason, but it certainly seems to be for varying conditions such as low coolant temp, overboosting, high knock, etc.

Same as the Evo IX's High Oct timing maps, I set all MWGDC and TBEC tables to match one another

I think Tephra said that on the IX the 1,2 and 3 ign maps are for when MIVEC is increasing or decreasing.

Increasing MIVEC uses avg of maps 2-3 and decreasing MIVEC used avg of maps 1-2

I can tell you that until you reach temperature in the "min temp for full boost control" table, it uses #1. After that i'm not sure So all mine are set to be the same.

Ok, so we do know then why table #1 is different just not the other three.

I assume that the best way to tune then would be to make table #1 conservative and change the other three using percent change? In this fashion we can maintain thier relationships (sort of) without knowing exactly what they are.
