PATCH: KNOCKCEL+NLTS+AltMap (V4)
I am not sure if the ACD button interfaces with the ECU. I thought the ACD had a separate control module. Either way i think it would be safer to use something like the fog light switch or even the rear defroster button. I dont think installing a button would be too incredibly difficult either.
An external switch will be the best overall method to use for everyone!
Eric
I hate to do it, but I have to second evoryder. I downloaded the v4 ROM and moved all my maps over, but immediately after I flashed it there was a constant whine similar to the ICS but louder. (Maybe ICS and BCS both?) Anyway, I went for broke and even tried to start the car but it didn't fire up straight away so I quit.
I put my old ROM (tephra v2) back and all is good again. I don't know what else to add to help diagnose what went wrong. I suppose I could have forgotten to copy something from the old ROM, so I will double check.

How about using that damn rear wiper motor switch? I hate that thing and would like to get rid of it anyway.
OT: does anyone have any part # for a plug of some sort for the rear wiper hole in the window?

Ugh, I have an 05
Tephra, you ROCK! This is a feature I would love to have. Any chance you can schedule some time to figure out a way for us non ICS guys to use the map-switching feature? Maybe using the window buttons or something? Mirror buttons?

window/wiper or ACD switches wont work without a bit of rewiring of that switch to the ECU and even at that Id say trying to find an unused input in the ECU code is no easy task,

How long does the change of map take after the button is pressed for the specified time? Could this alternate map be used as a failsafe: when the aquamist failsafe is activated it is wired to the ICS switch so the map would switch to a safe map for the non-meth boost levels. The time of holding the ICS button would have to be set close to zero so it would be almost instantaneous depending on how long it takes for the ecu to actually switch the maps. This could also be used in the case where you can have a totally non-meth map and then the flip of a switch, meth is active, boost is raised, and maps are changed accordingly. That would be a sick setup for the stock ECU.

pretty much instant.
Yes that was something I was talking to one of the other guys about.
V5 or V6 will also bring in multiple boost control, and for the meth users out there (druggies?? :P) we are looking at wiring in some failsafe stuff, not sure how/what yet thou !!!
anyways let me get this problem fixed and a few more ROMID's up and then we can talk about V5 and beyond!

What you are doing is great for the community and is really appreciated. The stock ECU keeps getting better and better.

AHHH... OOPS :P hahahaha
ok 94170008 is based on the SH7052 chip, which has 12K of RAM, not 32K like the 7055 (Evo9). I had incorrectly assumed that I could use some address space that didn't exist
Let me fix it up and I will post up a new ROM shortly! hehehe - Got the SH7052 Manual now!
