I was thinking the same thing but using the rear defroster button. I am not sure if you want to keep clicking the AC on and off.

It has to be something that is directly connected to the ecm, I believe. I think AC would most likely work. I wouldnt mind putting in my own switch either.

Ya, but how often would you need to do this? Doing it once in a while is not going to hurt anything, but at the same time could be done accidentally if not setup correctly....I really like the idea of just doing it when the car is off and the key is in the acc position. This way, when you're at the gas station, switching fuels or whatever, you make the change.

Thats true but for tuning purpose it would be nice to be able to load up a few maps with small differences and then do logs of each without having to turn the car off to change maps. I figure anyone who is knowledgeable enough to reflash their ecu with this patch and set it up for map switching is also smart enough to not accidentally switch maps.

Tephra also said there is a load threshold for map switching so you can't switch at high loads, so there really is no danger to accidentally switching, especially since it confirms the switch through blinking lights

Just tried it 3 times and it is NOT working. Upon completion of the flash I could hear a bunch of relays kick on, the fan kicked on, and the ICS light illuminated with all the other lights. The car would turn over and *maybe would fire once every time I tried but never actually started. I flashed back to my old rom, and back again to no avail. I even tried your map included in the zip where I ONLY changed the immobilizer code to match mine just in case I did something when trasfering my tables over to the new ROM. Still the same thing. Car's always run great on V2. Any idea?
The ROM included in your zip: http://filebox.vt.edu/users/utara/ra...08-v4-mods.bin
The ROM modified to match my old settings: http://filebox.vt.edu/users/utara/ra...1%20V4.hex.hex
The V2 ROM I'm currently using: http://filebox.vt.edu/users/utara/random/D1.hex.hex

(I'm no newb at this btw, I've done this hundreds of times on many many lancers)

If you added any additional patches to your ROM that tephra didn't include like 2byte load, ECU perephery etc. Copy those and save those in a text file and add them once you get V4.1 up and running.

hey tephra, this is awesome .

i was in the process of moving everything over and i got down to mods menu and was lookin at it and thinkin.. "ok cool we can change the fuel and timing maps.. but what about the boost settings?!?!!?" lol. see.. i run meth and im at 28+/-psi on the gm boost sol. (so i use ecuflash to control boost) and it would be nice to be able to switch from a non meth map at 21psi to a meth map at 28psi all by using the ICS button... do you think this will be possible?

umm... i dont remember what its called off hand. it is a snow kit. so whatever failsafe that one is. i got the led hooked up so if there is a problem it comes on still and i fix it. most common is out of fluid and loose line letting in air bubbles. its all good tho ugh. i really should hook up that solenoid though.

Tephra, you are a god among evo owners!

Any chance of doing this in tandem with JB's live mapping?

Is it compatible? I know he checked it for your previous patches, but am guessing you are using a lot more addresses now.

Donation will be sent within the next 5 mins! I never confirmed that the original NLTS was working, but the CEL and valet mode are enough for me to donate anyway. These extras are just icing on an already very tasty cake.

Do you have the ROMID for the JDM/UK cars. I can't remember which one it is, but it will be the one oracle sent you or the one JB released his patch for.

Adam, Tephra did 88570008 in his earlier version. I have done an 88570008 realtime but not combined it yet with Tephra mods.

I have combined realtime with his earlier patch of 88590015 (US Evo IX) and I see no conflicts, but I await actual testing by owners of this ECU (mainly to make sure I applied all the changes and did them correctly).

Future convergence between DMA logging/live mapping/map switching using PC or PDA/NLTS/knock CEL/Valet should be possible once we've all stabilised the features that are being offered.
