Are these roms interchangeable?

Hi guys,

Can I flash an ECU that has 94170014 or 94170015 rom with 94170008 rom? Are they interchangeable. I cannot find fine tuning ECU boost for the 0014 and 0015.

Yes, the 14 & 15 were supposed to be P0300 fixes for the 08. At least as far as I know. I do know that they will interchange though.

Hmm, good to know. Is there a way to patch the 8 ROM if it does in fact have the P0300 issue or is this nothing to worry about anymore???

All these roms are from the same family, as JB said 014&015 are p300 fix for 08 rom and you can see the difference in knock sensor filter map1, i have upgraded 4 evos from 08 to 014,just swap all the maps and immobilizer over and rock & roll.

Is the filter map 1 the only difference? Could we just copy this one map to the 08 and be done with it? The reason I ask is the 008 has ECU boost control fine tuning defined by mrfred, but the others do not.

I never tried that but i did put the o8 filter map1 table in 96940011 rom and i had more frequent p300 than usuall.I think that code has to do with the way you tune the car as well as that map1 table.

I just ran into this with a car I tuned not too long ago. I was just contacted and informed that the car suddenly started throwing the P0300. I will look and see what ROM I pulled off the car but I could have sworn it was an 08 to begin with.

Be careful what you swap with the filter maps. The one thing I have found is that the reason the 0008 map looks different when compared to 0015 is because the start address for the 0008 is off and shifts everything one step over. Once you adjust for that issue, they both looked identical to me.
Also I've noticed on the particular 0008 map that I have that the anti-lag tables (timing advance/retard and fuel enrichment/lean) are undefined in EcuFlash, where as the 0015 maps are. I'm not sure whether there is any coincidence there, but it may be something to look into.
