I am trying to read my ecu and save my stock rom so I can get ready to start my tuning process with Mellon but I get this everytime.

The cable is plugged in correctly, EvoScan works.Battery is good but will get a charge at Autozone. I can read other rom files but wont let me read/write on my ecu. I dont think its the cable its Evo specific. I will try an older EcuFlash and see if that works but if anyone can help me out that would be great. Yes I did search and am trying what they had on there ie unlocker, battery charge etc..
Had the same problem when I had a tuner try to tune it on a different laptop with a universal cable.

 

my laptop was in power saver mode. change settings to performance and now its works. thanks for everyone looking.

 

Has your car been prevoiously tuned

 

If your car was tuned by someone else your ecu could be locked I had this problem and had to use an ECU-unlocker to view my rom.

 

Duh didnt see that your trying the ECU unlocker i forgot that i also used an older version of ecuflash that plus the unlocker seemed to do the trick.
