ECUflash/Evoscan ecu read/write issues
Hello,
I'm new member here, but i have been reading quite long time. Im also quite new to this ecu tuning so bear with me.
The problem is that i can't read or write with ECUflash or Evoscan, both fails in init section:
sending init sequence 1 (0001)
sending init sequence 1 (0003)
sending init sequence 1 (FFFF)
sending init sequence 1 (F0F0)
no response to any known code
interface close
Evoscan Datalogging connect and works, atleast tps data changes if gas pedal is pressed.
Background:
Car is Evo IV with USDM VIII ecu installed. Car doesnt run, it cranks and even runs for a sec. We have swapped pins 8<->22 and moved 20->32 and 21->34. disconnected pin 87 and used that one to connect flash connetor to pin 79.
We have Evoscan openport 1.3u cable and have tried latest Evoscan and 1.28, 1.41 and latest ECUflash. Cable is new.
We have had car connected to battery charger.
I hooked up multimeter to disconnected 79 pin and shows 4.68 volts, i dont remeber was it 0 volts when connected to flash connector, but never saw 12 volts on that line. Is there any way to check if cable is bad/ok?
And yes key is on position.
We have tried two different laptops, one with xp and one with win7
If anyone has any lead what to try next i would be really grateful.
Thanks in advance, this is really great forum.

Got it sorted out.
Tried third laptop connected to car charger instead of wall charger and it got me connected and i was able to read and reflash ecu. now car runs fine without any cels and i used tephramod v7 with egr/rearO2/frontO2 heating circuit/immobilizer disabled.
Cat overheating light is on but we need to do some wiring change or take bulb out.
