I'm going to use my tactrix cable to pull my rom from the ecu and data log. In order to pull info does the key have to be on? And in order to re flash latter on down the road does the key need to be on? Can the car be running( I assume not as i would be modding the current rom and changing that while on would just cause a crap load of problems). Also for data logging purposes is its safe to plug the cable in while the car is on(will it short the ecu). I know these may be n00bish questions but I haven't had alot of time to look into the basics of plugging in the cable. I have been researching a good bit on tuning and know for a fact I probably wont be doing anything serious(as I do not wish to mess up my beautiful car) But since I do have an 03 i would like to put launch control in as my first "mod" to the ecu.
