Yeah John you need to reset your BISS screw.

Easiest way is to toggle the SAS actuator in evoscan...

I thin that is the process.
"Change the default" by this do you mean the Immobilizer code? What does the "ECU_PEREPHERY" do? Why is it needed?

I tried loading 06 into a 11 ROM tonight and wasn't able to start it but, I just read about the Valet mode needing to be deactivated via the throttle. I assume that still needed to be done?

Nah you need to disable the immobiliser, to do that add

Code:
<table name="ECU_PEREPHERY" category="Misc" address="faa" type="1D" level="4" scaling="Hex16"/>
Into your xml.

Then in ecuflash open ECU_PEREPHERY" and it should be 0x56DA, change that to 0x56D2.

That should allow you to start it.

Also use V5.10 of 96530006 as that gets rid of the valet mode lockout bug

Cool, thanks. One last thing, I assume the ECU_PEREPHERY can be added anywhere in the 06 .xml file? I had placed in front of your mods .xml data. Is this what the ECU_PEREPHERY does, disables the immobilizer? Just curious.

anywhere... (obviously not part way through another definition thou)

periphey bits control lots of different things, not just the immob..

I have a 2005 evo grs completely stock, I tried the 06 rom using V5.10 mod, everything is working fine, question, would I see any benefits using the timing and fuel tables from this rom? I compared the maps and they look similar.

I just tried to migrate over again and am still having stalling issues. Just moving around in the driveway, it will stall as soon as I push the clutch in. I tried bumping the idle up. I activated the SAS actuator and idle dropped to about 700. Do I need to do something with my BISS? What exactly is BISS. And why would my 11 rom not have these issues if it was something mechanical? I keep latching onto bits of info from you guys, but cant ever seem to get it figured out.

I went for a drive just to see if I can get to work in the morning without pissing off the g/f by taking her ride. It doesnt stall/stumble everytime I push the clutch in. But when it does, my WB shows full rich, and idle drops to 500 or so. I am guessing that BISS stands for Base Idle Set Screw? Is that correct? Just like a carb? And by activating the SAS actuator, it relies solely on that screw? You just activate it, set the screw to the desired idle rpm, then deactivate? Do the Idle Stepper values have anything to do with this? I had modified the upper TPS portion to rid throttle hang on the 11 rom to 65s. And for my test drive, I set it to stock values in the EUDM 06 rom and the throttle hang is definitely back. Other than target idle, that is the only thing I have modified that is idle related.

I used the idle tables from the EUDM 06 rom and have no problems.

Another thing Im noticing is that I dont get fuel cut on decel everytime now. Sometimes it sits at 12.0 or so while coasting in gear.

Your understanding of the BISS is correct: if you activate the SAS actuator, the ECU makes no air adjustments to keep the car at a minimal RPM at idle. So yes, set the SAS actuator, set the screw until the RPM is near where you want it to be at idle, and then deactivate the actuator. If your BISS is too far off, the car may stumble and/or die as soon as you click on that actuator, just FYI.

Thanks. It definitely stumbles when I activate the actuator. Goes down to about 600-700 rpm. Im going to give it a shot tonight. I just dont see why it wasnt an issue on my 11 rom.

I think my plugs are shot too... It was breaking up under high load this morning and about .5 points lean, but no knock in the logs. I sat in some harsh stop and go traffic yesterday and the car hasnt run right since. My whole purpose for switching to the EUDM rom last night was to get the knock light patch working, my 11 rom stopped working a while back (I fubarred the xml files). That same stretch of construction is going to be fun this afternoon with the stalling issue...

I guess the SAS actuator didnt have as much of an affect as I thought it did. It stumbles a little but the rpms stay between 900-1000, even with my target idle rpm at stock values (high 800s). Should I bring idle down with the BISS, or will that just make it worse? And my WB shows lean (high 16s) with the SAS actuator activated. I thought I read somewhere that it should show rich.

Ive got some plugs laying around that Im going to toss in, but they are stock heat range and Ive been running 8s.

My LTFTs are less than 1, and my STFT doesnt go beyond 5 either direction at idle.

How exactly do I start this rom swap process? Switching from 96940011 to 96530006? I downloaded v5.1 for 06 into the 06 xml? Now I'm stuck. I seem to be following everyone on changing things to make it work right. But I guess my question is how to do the actual switching.

To switch ROMs you have to actually flash the new ROM into your ECU. The issue with the 06 ROM replacing the 11 ROM is that you have to disable the immobilzer for it to work.

So, I am assuming that in Tephra's download you have a ROM and an XML. The XML enables you to edit the ROM and it's features in ECUFlash. The ROM itself is the file that needs to be flashed to your ECU.
