9653006v5 WORKS for 05 USDM (9694011)
Add the following into the XML of your ROM :
<table name="ECU_PEREPHERY" category="Misc" address="faa" type="1D" level="4" scaling="Hex16"/>
Change the default value of 56DA to 56D2.
I thin that is the process.

This hits on one of the things that I wish EcuFlash had: bit-level representation; a field of checkboxes, with labels for each bit in a given byte/word/etc. would be fantastic for periphery settings.
So, from the sounds of it, the 96530006 does not support EGR, possibly other things. Once this is working, flashing a USDM 96940011 car will render the EGR system inoperable.
So, once we flash with the 9650006 ROM, we will be able to remove all the EGR parts because it will be unsupported by the ROM? (I hope so, I love less parts to fail! And for simplicity!) (And I live in SC, no vehicle inspections!)
Korekt?

From what I've been told, the 96530006 is the ROM ID for the UKDM Evo 8 260 model, which has two O2 sensors (one pre and one post cat), just as the USDM 8 has.
The interesting thing is that there is a Ralliart ECU for this model which removes the programming for the second O2 sensor check. Therefore, in the UK, it has been reported that a fix for the CEL light after removing the second O2 sensor is to switch to a Ralliart ECU (or its rom).
Perhaps you've already thought of this, but if the 96530006 rom works on both the USDM 8 and the UKDM Evo 8 260, and the Ralliart ECU for the Evo 8 260 removes the CEL light (without any need for hardware/shorting), then it seems to me that the Ralliart ECU (or more accurately its rom) could well be a software solution to the USDM CEL/O2 sensor problem?
PS: The Evo 8 260 does not have a secondary air system (I'm not sure whether this is what you mean by EGR or not).

Youngsyr, the Tephra v5.1 patch has a simulator for the rear O2 to remove the CEL. This doesn't allow removal of the sensor from the car, just eliminates the CEL.
Does the Ralliart ROM have any other advantages?

Ah right, didn't realise Tephra had already sorted it. I believe with the Ralliart ECU you can remove the O2 sensor completely, because the ECU originally came with a de-cat (test) pipe with no O2 in it.
As for other advantages, there are probably a few, but the only one I can think of is that it comes with the load scales on the timing and fuel maps pre-adjusted to go up to 300 (I believe this is where the ECUFlash guys got the idea from).
That ROM won't pass US OBD-II emissions testing if the cat OBD-II readiness tests don't run.
I think we should be fine with the rear O2 sims that are being applied now to the ROMs and the upcoming work on the heater circuits, so that you can remove the sensor completely, if you want.

Anyone else noticing that ECUFlash xml for 96530006.xml has several entries different than 96940011.xml? I am having to change alot of the "elements="15" to elements="16". This scales the RPMs all the way to 6000 instead of 5750 (For example Open Loop Load # 1)
