Is it safe to log at 22 PSI on a stock ROM

I just installed a GM 3 Port EBCS and I was wondering if it would be safe to crank up the boost to 22 psi and make a few 3rd gear pulls to determine if the stock tune can be used with the 22 PSI before I can get an actual tune (or maybe do some changes myself). I know that the stock ECU goes up to 260 load on the stock form but will 22 psi go that high? I am now running 20 psi till redline and I am getting about 225 load average from 3500 to 6000 RPM. Have anyone done that? Any changes of blowing up on a stock tune at 22 psi?

Your fine. Go for a pull and look for knock, and your a/f curve. At that boost I doubt you'd pass 240 .However, each car is different, and also depends on your mods...blah blah blah. Go log.

load varies from car to car depending on parts (and whether both cars use load calc vs 2 byte makes it even harder). The stock tune doesn't run a lot of timing and is relatively rich but check for knock and see how it goes. This assumes that the one at 20 psi looks ok? if thats already knocking because of fuel then going higher probably will knock as well....

The 20 psi is not nocking. It did have a few counts at 4K RPMs but I pull back 1 deg at that load to fix it. No knock over 5K RPM. According to how to tune an evo the stock EVO timing is very aggressive so I am not sure what you mean by saying that the stock tune doesn't run a lot of timing. It is very rich over 6K, so reach that my AEM UEGO only reads 10 which is the lowest it would read. So I am at the nines AFR at high RPMs.

The factory evo is tuned rich like a b***h. You should remember that you get knock from being too rich as well. Don't just mess with timing. Work on fuel and timing, going back and forth.
I would lean it out to atleast 11.5(+/-)....10 is crazy rich. You guys have 93 oct puerto right?

I would also recommend logging in 2byte load, ALOT more accurate.

I think you can safely say the stock evo is not aggressively timed, at least not in the high load cells.

Yeah. We do have 93 oct here. What I want to do is tune the GM 3 Port at 22 and then go to local tuner (we have a few really good tuners here) and get a real tune. But since they usuallly use a MBC or EBC I just want to mess a little with the 3 Port setup so I can e of help during the actual tune if it is required. I was not aware that you can knock due to overly rich condition. Anyway that was not my case. In the meantime I can learn a little about self tunning I have been dealing with cars for a long time (since I was in college 10 yrs ago).

This is the worst log I got on my current setup. This was before instaling the walbro HPFP which I just finish this morning.
