Today I did some more Octane Control work and found a few more maps that go with it. The Octane Control can be effectively disabled by just raising the Engine Temp to a value that is never reached. The 2D maps are rate of change maps, where the lower the number the faster the octane will change. Setting it to 255 turns it off at that particular Engine Load amount. As a small note, I saw someone else had mentioned these maps recently for another rom, but it didn't click until today that they were referring to the same maps that I was working on for a while now. So whoever it was, partial credit goes to them too :-)

<table name="Octane Control Enable Engine Temp" category="Timing" address="17a4" type="1D" level="2" scaling="Temp"/>

EDIT - These maps were removed because they were incorrect. Close, but not correct. JCSBANKS has a thread with the correct maps. The above 1D is correct though.

I have just read all of your thread, You have done a lot of work.

Have you you posted your final .xml

I just tuned a customers GTA today, but the def file was one that had none of these extra maps you have found. Where can I get a copy of your .xml?

Again great work!

I know Matt was looking at the pressure stuff, but it was hell complex and he may have given up on it.

Try this:

http://translate.google.co.nz/transl...DN%26prmd%3Ddf

They define upshift pressure and time, but not downshift.

I can confirm that these work in a 89970010 rom, but it states its for the 80700010 rom as well.

This thread should have resulted in a comprehensive definition file for the 80700010, but Mattjin abruptly stopped posting late 08 without publishing such file! My main issue with the 80700010 for now is that I'm unable to remove the boost (fuel) cut which occurs at 19psi (1.3bar) because of falsely defined boost limit table. Although Mattjin did post 2 addresses for two boost limit tables, but still I think that rpm columns addresses are needed too, in order to define the two boost limit tables in the XML.

I too had a problem with boost limit tables -recently infact (2 weeks ago), so much that I had to resort to ECUtek.
I Emailed Mattjin & couldn't give me the def file. I understand his reasons though, he spent hundreds/thousands of hours researching/decompiling the GTA ECU. He uses the information gained to do other Mitsubishi ECUs too - this forms a core part of his business & therefore he doesn't want to give away his hard work.
Annoying, but understandable!

Hey Nads,
I have the addresses for the two boost limit tables, do you think that's enough information to add them to the XML?
I even tried to insert a big number under 'boost cut delay timer' but to no avail!

I think there is a piece of hardware called 'fuel cut defencer' by HKS that should be able to remove boost limits, I might try that as a last resort.

About Mattjin, what is his business, web site?

I just looked this up for you guys, unlike other CT9A's there are two tables:

Code:
<table name="Boost Limit #1" category="Turbo" address="3a48" type="2D" scaling="LoadBoost">
	<table name="RPM" address="6266" type="Y Axis" elements="9" scaling="RPM"/>
</table>

<table name="Boost Limit #2" category="Turbo" address="3a58" type="2D" scaling="LoadBoost">
	<table name="RPM" address="6266" type="Y Axis" elements="9" scaling="RPM"/>
</table>

Dave, does the GTA run a two-stage system like the manuals do?
Is the second boost cut set up for a lower part of the rpm/mph cross-over as a style of torque limiter in lower gears?

i dont think its a crossover function..

my definition file isn't good enough to just "see" what its going - unfortunately..
