Ok, here is what I have set (just want to be certain cuz I've had issues with tip-in knock for over a year now!).

BE start RPM=2500 (address=1680)
BE stop RPM=4531 (address=1682)
Leanspool Enable=80 (address=1681)
LeanSpool Disable=224(address=1685)

I believe these are all back to the stock settings but wanted to make sure before I finally remove the tables from my list.

Leanspool is now disabled via FBA bit0 set to '0'

Question, the "Wastegate Solenoid Activation RPM" settings....should I jeep those stock or am I supposed to change any of that?

Also, to be clear......

FAA Bit10 adds timing when disabled

FAA Bit11 removes timing when disabled

correct?

leave bit11 disable 10 faa...i left my wastegate option alone and deleted the rest.

Further update. Cruising in 5th on the highway and feathered the throttle like i normally do and get knock...no knock, at all. So happy.

If your MAF was scaled you must go back in and edit the AirFlowinHZ. x*10.24 x/10.24 uint16, 6400 blah blah stuff before it will run properly.

Sorry, I think I misspoke I was thinking that you had just installed 5.10, and the car was running rough.

This is occurring to me as well on rom 94170015. I'll be cruising in 5th gear at 3,200rpm and have the slow knock CEL go off which is set to 4 counts. Lean spool is enabled and all settings appear stock as in Lean Spool Start RPM = 2500, Stop = 7000, FAA bit 10 is 1 ... going WOT is giving no knock... just what has been described below, seemingly random knock ??

Suggestions?

I know its phantom because I could make corrections to compensate for it and it would then pop up in a different area. One exampe, was last night coming home from Denver cruising at 3350rpm in 5th gear and the knock light flashes. There was NO change in acceleration, no change in load, nothing and it popped up twice.

I am going to test this theory with a stock ROM with my tuned maps. I'll report back with results.

A quick one for Tephra: Once you are running on alternate map (let's say 3rd gear pool), is it possible to get a switch back to regular map @250 Load if the ACD0F goto 0 or is this situation is protected by the Threshold = 110% ???

if the ADC0F input drops below your threshold (default is 3.01v) it will IMMEDIATELY switch to the regular maps. And by immediately, I mean in under 5 milliseconds. This is how the failsafe feature is set. The load threshold is so someone cant switch to the more aggressive alt maps while flooring it and possibly breaking something.

I'm really dense on this stuff. I just recently disabled LS for the first time by inserting the following into my VIII ROM:

<table name="Lean Spool Start RPM" category="Misc" address="1680" type="1D" level="1" scaling="RPMStatLimit"/>
<table name="Lean Spool Stop RPM" category="Misc" address="1684" type="1D" level="1" scaling="RPMStatLimit"/>
...and then changing the Lean Spool Stop RPM from 7000 to 2500 rpm. I didn't change the Lean Spool Start RPM which defaulted to 2500 rpm. My ROM already had these lines in it:

<table name="Boost Enhancement (Anti-Lag) Start RPM" address="1680"/>
<table name="Boost Enhancement (Anti-lag) Stop RPM" address="1682"/>
They defaulted to 2500 rpm start RPM and 45xx stop RPM. I didn't change those tables at all.

These changes richened up the car a lot and also seems to have added some random knock issues that I didn't have before, even after correcting the AFR.

1. To fix this, do I need to do anything with the Boost Enhancement (Anti-Lag) Start/Stop RPMs other than delete those lines from my specific ROM? I never changed them, either in the ROM or their values in EcuFlash.

2. If I want to use the newer method to disable lean spool, should I return my LS stop RPM to 7000 and then add the perphery bit table (I have an VIII and am switching from v1.29a to v1.35) and then change the appropriate bit to disable LS? Should I delete the lean spool start and stop RPM tables from my ROM?

I feel like I have a kindergarten-level grasp of this stuff, but I'm trying!

Thanks!

1) dont touch the BE tables - in fact delete them from your XML so you dont get tempted to touch em

2) yes return start/stop to stock then add the PBit table...

you will need to retune after disabling LS as it changes your AFR (obviously)

BE + LS = random knock. Think of the BE + LE as having two virus protections on a computer at the same time, they will conflict and cause issues.

You should add that disclaimer somewhere Dave

nah its because the BE stop overlaps other LS settings.

BE settings are incorrectly defined and should be removed.
