So since I have been tunning I have been looking at my other friends maps. This is a RACE timming map for the old 20G 5 blade setup. Is this so you can shoot fire? Or does it help the spool of the turbo by taking out the timming at low load on the shift?

 

It's to shoot fire I am guessing but I am guessing it = fail by looking at it..If you do it right you can get an ignition that may slightly help spoolup up going to the next gear..
I have done alittle tweaking to get a "pop" between shifts and I have heard it sometimes shoots flames but I mainly just did it because I was expermenting andjst kept using it because I like the sound..My car is quiet as hell but you can hear it when I shift..And it is definitely not like the map above and also has changes in the fuel table as well. You can hear it in this vid, I am the gray evo racing in the 2nd race.

Yeah, that's basically what it's for, although you might get better results taking about 10 degrees out of that area. But, you might hit the car behind you with the flames.

That ignition map could use LOTS of work. I bet that particular car doesn't drive very smooth, or, as smooth as it could be.
