today i decided to pull 2 logs since i changed the boost settings in the car.

i am currently running wastegate boost ~14/15 psi.

i am currently running the STOCK Maps

after pulling the logs today i am getting a max of 18 counts of knock for some reason even though i am running reduced boost.

in addition for some reason my car is saying i am getting 30 psi!!!

i would really like to start tuning my car (JDM Evo IX - car is bone stock). i have attached the logs for some help/advice!

Yes there are some strange things going on there. The timing is very high for peak boost, but maybe not if you're running wastegate pressure

Here's a few questions.

How are you measuring boost?
Do you have the wideband logs?
Do you have an induction kit?
Can you post your fuel and timing maps?
Can you post a photo of how you have your boost pipes conected?


You'll also notice that the octane number isn't being decremented and the IDCs look very high for wastegate boost and shouldn't you be logging JDM map to get the boost direct from the ECU?

1. MAP Sensor comes with the JDM Evo IX
2. no WB logs, i am just testing the car right now. WB will be bought soon.
NOTE: i have not changed the stock maps at all!

5. boost pipes are stock piping the car is bone stock!

 

Just do a screen shot opf the maps. Note the thing I asked about logging JDM MAP for boost.

What is the PSI your "car is saying" at idle and cruise? If it's showing correctly (i.e. vacuum or < 0 PSI) and boost readings are good the WGA may not be getting control air for some reason

 

just read on Evoscan u need to subtract 15 psi.... so i guess i am fine.

still slighlt confused about the timing and knock i am getting!
