so far i have tried:

*new install of ecuflash, then insert JUST your 88590615 mod xml.

*new install copying over my evo9 base and previously modded 88590015 (for jdm, psi based boost mods)

*old install just adding your 88590615 moded xml. (would be same as above im guessing)

notes:

I can upload my old rom with any of these above combos and it works fine.

I have yet to upload V6 and get the car to start.

well technically you should be able to take MY rom, change the immobiliser and then flash that to your car and it should start...

does it not?

Can some1 tell me what the original value @ MUT 40 was "0x608F? And if I can change this the "0x8417" for gear? The values for the new defs. (MAT, 1BYTE, GEAR/MPH) were the same as my current values...

edit: I think I may have found my prob. Found my original data .xml and noticed request id for gear was 21, not 40. (it was working then) so I guess I'll find out tomorrow...

Tephra, thanks for bumping 94170015 up as the next ROM. I have been running a heavily modified 94170014 v5.1 for the last year or so with good results and now that my car is getting back together (transmission issues) am really looking forward to v6. I had been contemplating moving to 5.10 but I haven't wanted to mod one ROM just to replace it another right away.

I should be able to pretty much test most of the features as I rescale things & port over the applicable data from my old ROM and patch in any missing functionality I currently have from other sources like mrfred's work.

Car is an '03 USDM Evo 8 running e85 with enough odd bits (FP Green, injectors, cams, cone filter, JDM MAP, GM BCS, wideband & O2 simulator, ect.) to mean that I'll need to touch just about everything to get it sorted. If everything goes well I should even be able to do some logging at a track event next month.

any1 have an answer to post #190??? Seems as though, that didnt fix my prob. Gear will log, but obviously not correctly. Its reading 120, 136, etc. And I can not get any of the new def. to log for me... The MUT's for the other 3 are correct, and still nada...

I had to add new data items to all except gear (already had this) (was working, now, not)
For RPM_SPEED_RATIO: I had to add a new data item, since placing the defs. in the .xml isnt working for me. When I added the new data item, it only gives 1 request id. How do I get it to look up the other request id? For this it should be 42, and 43, and I only have 42 (assuming this is why its not logging) but then again, I cant figure out why arent the others logging??? 42=6A9D / 43=6A9F is this correct? I guess I can try changing 40 again, but I think this was the cause of the cell I got the first day...
40=??? maybe Im changing to the wrong value???

I look at my logs and can tell its reading the right gears, by the WGDC, but cant tune the rpm/speed to gear table...

ANY IDEAS? Im in the dark right now...

TIA

Did you modify your MUT table from the original tephra one? If so you will need to modify the pertinent items to match the ones in the link in the first post.

Evoscan only shows the first location of the item to be logged in the GUI. If you copied the XML from the first post or have 2 request IDs in your XML then you are A-OK

THIS IS WEIRD... I have copy/pasted the .xml defs. in the data .xml in section 2 (@ the bottom) (both request id's are there for "rpm-speed-ratio") and no new items pop up. I have copy/pasted my entire MUT table. The only thing that was different was 40 (gear) and the 2bytes. 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05. The others were already set up...
00, 01 = 2byteload
(these 2 might be backwards) not infront of my laptop...
02, 03 = 2byteairflow
04, 05 = 2byterpm

So rpm/speed to gear should log... So should have gear! It was working a while back... (when I didnt need it) I guess I will try 40 again... I cant get any of these new defs. to work?!?!? IDK WTF and getting frustrated... Im starting to think I need to do an un-install/re-install 2.5...

Will rpm/speed ratio log correctly, if gear isnt??? Do you need to be using 1byteload?

fostytou: Are you using request id 40 for gear? what was the original value, and what did you change it to?

Im not giving up! Im gonna go over the MUT table again later tonight...

thanks again for the insight fostytou

Phil -

1) regular evoscan already contains a "gear", this is my fault, just remove the original one and replace with mine...

2) gear should be using MUT40 - so double check that MUT40 is programmed correctly, should be 0x8447
