TephraMOD V6 - testing!
nonschlont, you don't need to log both 2 byte and 1 byte load. Also, it looks like your 2-byte to 1-byte load factor is 1.2 in your ROM but 1.3 in EvoScan.
Ditch 2 byte load and change the formula for 1 byte to 1.2*x (or change the value in your Tephra options in your ROM to 1.3)

both formulas are the same (1.2*x) and 1.2 in the rom. Hmmnn, I have 1.2 in the rom and 1.2*x as the formula. I have to use the beta8 version to get the rpm_speed_ratio to log for some reason, and use 2.5 for everything else. but just checked the formula, and it was the same as my 2.5 (1.2*x)
Tephra: let me see if I have this right... Ex. If Im seeing 570-102 "rpm_speed_ratio" in 1st, is 105 sufficient? or should I go higher up "in the middle" (inbetween 570-102) say 200? And for 2nd 85-71 should be ~75? 3rd was 57-54 so say 55? 4th was 46.5-40.5 so say 42? and 5th was 33.25-28.3, so say 30?
TIA

phil - did you leave the filter at 8?
1st I would try 109ish... whatever it sort of settles too after a little bit...
but the general idea is the code will "snap" to the closest... so if you had 100 in 3rd and 70 in 4th then would stay 3rd gear UNTIL it got to ~85 then it would jump to 4th...

I currently have the rpm_speed_ratio table like this:
1 6
30 5
43 4
55 3
75 2
110 1
1801 0

yeah that should be fine...
you logging gear yeh? just make sure the gear is correct and that it doesn't "jump" to another gear mid pull or anything..
of course it will be a bit funny straight after shifting - when the clutch/gb is still syncing with the engine...

Tephra,
I figured out why my car wouldn't run well when cold. I disconnected the EGR valve and everything is now fine. However I just wanted to see if any other USDM 0015 users are having this issue with the egr hooked up. The car goes horribly lean about 15 seconds after firing the engine when stone cold and stalls out (18:1+AFR, saw 20:1 today before it stalled out). It is fine once coolant temps reach about 150degF. This leaning out is due to the EGR valve opening up and filling the intake manifold with unmetered air. I'm not sure if I found a bug or if this is user error.

...And dan l: mine's been running fine... Cold start has been a bit harder now that I switched back to E85 and changed injectors, but its getting better as I tune it and not doing anything out of the ordinary. It definitely does not spike lean either unless I'm on the wrong map. Did you check your injector startup IPW table and your injector scaling?

ok so far from the testing people I have to following enhancements:
1) add flag to enable/disable airflow calc
2) force 0% wgdc when in 'valet' mode
anything else? how are people finding the boost drop on AFR/Knock?

MUT 85 is 0 with key in ignition and engine not running. When I started the car and coolant temps were 140 deg F MUT 85 went to 128. At some point about a minute later MUT 85 went to 0. All this happened while holding an idle (the egr vacuum lines are pulled so it actually idles now).

Boost drop on high knock works perfectly. I'm really loving v6 Tephra, I will be sending another donation soon.
The best features, IMHO, are gear dependent boost control (car feels COMPLETELY different now) and WGDC 100% under X load.
Thank you, mrfred, and others so much for your hard work.

128 = EGR fully open, so it is misbehaving. Pretty interesting. I've been looking through tephra's v6 code in preparation for writing a flex fuel patch for it, and I haven't seen anything that could affect EGR duty at all, but then I haven't gone through everything yet. Maybe it was a bad flash? Have you tried flashing to another ROM and then flashing back to the tephra ROM?
