OK good news guys!

Going from 9417 -> 9653 worked perfect, expect you have to change over the Immobilzer Hex from 9417 to 9653, left everything else bone stock and scaled for my injectors.

Things to note, I have a JDM Map sensor already so no SES lights and the car started up and idled better than the 9417 ROM actually. It's weird but the car seemed so much smoother at idle with 9653 than with 9417. Once I switched back to 9417 it had a loopier idle, could be other things though...

Pretty much I took a bone stock 9653 ROM changed the imm. hex key and imm. to what was in my 9417 ROM and left everything else bone stock (scaled for my injectors) and started the car. Everything worked perfect!

Tephra, what's the next step? V6 testing? 5.10 testing?

Would they have to have the JDM map sensor to test?

Come on people we need some testers...if you want to test let me know and I can help with the editing of the imm. hex

Things like, ECU Based boost control and Boost logging will not work then right?

If so that is a huge issue for me and I would not be willing to switch if we couldn't implement that in some way....

No they will work.

You just dont need to worry about changing the scaling etc for the 1bar->3bar.

Look at MrFreds 3bar thread to see if he has instructions for 3bar setup on 96530006...

I think he means that it is not used in the stock portion of the rom. He is just trying to start with a low code base that can be used universally to limit the amount of roms needed for each specific car. Just 1 9 rom and 1 8 rom, thats the way it should be anyways.

EDIT: He has instructions for ecu base boost control, and I assume logging boost will be already done since that ROM has a 3 bar sensor setup for it.....correct?

thanks gearhead, so to recap:

For 96530006:
- you can just plug in a 3bar sensor and not have to change the ECU scalings for MAP sensor (since the ECU isn't aware of the MAP sensor)
- you CAN still do the psi based mod - follow MrFreds instructions for doing so..

Sound right?

Sounds good, now I just need to test a v7 from you and still apply all the mods:

- 2 byte load, airflow, rpm
- psi based boost control
- boost logging
- can't remember what else I am sure I am missing some

Hopefully they are figured out....

You wond need 2byte load anymore - use the 1byte mod.

Forget 2byte rpm as well, 1byte is fine...

ok I will work on a V7 96530006 and post up - probably wont work first go thou

Yes, thats correct, I didn't change anything for the MAP sensor when I switched. I am currently controlling boost with mrfreds Direct Boost patch.
