I have a late 04 EDM VIII (has the 96530006 ROM as standard) and I don't see the problem you are highlighting above in the quick logs I have done. It appears to be working fine to be honest.
I know this doesn't help you, sorry, but it does indicate that it may not be a problem in all vehicles.

can you do a 3rd gear pull from like 1800rpm? i need to see the bottom end of the load + wgdc + rpm + tps
Is it just me or am I the only one wondering why duty cycle should even matter under 100 load where there is NO BOOST?

If the WGDC kicks in at 1.9 psi where the wastegate crack pressure is 11-13psi, what is the problem?

I think I might have found the culprit.

It seems the BCS Re/Deactivation table is different between the 03 and 05 Evo's.

Here is the difference, 03 Evo value on top, 05 Evo value on bottom. I also notice that my WGDC goes to 100% right about 2250rpms and 120 load.

Bryan from GST noted it in this post here

Edit: the addresses for these 2 tables are also different. 2003 with 94170015 address in 1668, 2005 96530706 address is 1a68

"Of course they were *****, Donny; they were threatening castration! Are we gonna split hairs here? Am I wrong?"

I don't think it should be a big issue, but I can see where you are coming from. The issue isn't serious, but we are making minor improvements so we might as well not make minor deficiencies

Good that you found the solution

The dude abides.

But seriously, I wasn't able to see if changing the BCS Re/Deactivation address/values gave me 100% WGDC like it should. Damn business travel and hampering my tuning.

Is there anyone else here running v7 coming from a 9417 rom? Or am I the only guy on my island on this...

I am running it without any trouble, but then again I have a 03' VIII the bastard child of all EVO's!

Other's have said they have converted using my USDM distribution without any trouble as well. Some had minor hick-ups but mostly the problems of the user not transferring their data properly or deleting all the XML's so the data displays properly.

I also have an 03. There was no xml to delete as I've never modded the 9653 rom, or the newer evo7base (dated). I even tried installing ecuflash in a new directory and got the same results.

So I'm assuming both of you have logged WGDC during a pull starting below 2250rpms and are absolutely sure that WGDC is 100% and not 0%???

Keep in mind this rom "works" in my car and I wouldn't call it "trouble"...it starts, runs, builds boost, changes timing and afr etc. It just doesn't work exactly how I want it to in regards to handling WGDC the same way as the 9417 ROM.

If you guys can empirically state that you do not have the same issues, please email me your xml and rom image. christopher.byrne at gmail and I will install ecuflash in a new directory, replace the xml, load your map and change nothing other than the immob code and injector settings and see if I was the source of the error.

Did you add the appropriate XML that Tephra included in his release?

Are you using my modded version or Tephra's version and you are modding it yourself? If you are modding it yourself download my version and try that too, maybe there is something you are not copying over.

Make sure you copy in the appropriate XML that Tephra includes because you do have to delete any previous v6 or v7 XML that you might have in your ECUFlash directory.

I have 100% confirmed WGDC working perfectly as expected. If you look a few posts up I was having issues but it was my min load for WGDC map that was the culprit.

Sorry, I use an EBC. I speak to the continued ability for me to walk out to my car at 7am and drive to work. My requirements are relatively low in comparison to others, but in the ten years I've been messing with cars I've also found that simplicity saves a lot.
