Load dipping issues

I've been getting these sharp dips in my load lately. It seems to be affecting the fueling. I don't exactly know what they mean. I don't seem to feel any jerk or hiccup while doing these pulls either. They show up roughly 2 out of 3 pulls. I've been doing my pulls on the same stretch of road I always do, which is not bumpy at all. Do you guys have any ideas? or what I can do to continue troubleshooting this?

hmmm its should not dip like that at all.

try 1 byte load (in Tephra's V5.1) or loadcalc.

also try logging just 2 byte load and see if this changes.

Is there another 2 byte load? Isn't the 'Load MUT 2Byte Mod' the same thing? I'll try regular "Load Calculated" now to see if that shows any dips.

Have seen many cases of this dip in load
Only 1 out of them due to weak ign coil, the rest due to spark plug.

Turn up your boost you can make it consistantly come on at the set rpm point(usually around 4-5krpm)

Interesting. I did turn it up 1psi. Is the spark blowing out too soon and causing that dip? (my plugs are 52,000 miles old--i haven't changed them out yet). Is there any danger of running like this in autocross events? I got an event this Sunday.

fyi, i did log the other loadcalc and load11bit4, but it didn't exhibit this dip.

I see this on occasion as well... I now use "1Byte load" unless Im logging HP/TQ. I was under the impression this was due to the innaccuracy of 2 byte load, and to just ignore the dips. I have had dip upwards and downwards.

this is CLASSIS high/low byte mismatch on 2byte load.

its an error - and your load IS NOT actually doing that..

either ignore it or use tephramod 1byteload

I'm using 1 byte load and I get zero's to 12.

I think it's spark blow out... I'm waiting for the car to cool down before I re-gap the plugs down to .018

I think your issue is the 2byte to 1byte load factor...you need to increase it from the preset 1.2 to 1.3 because you're exceeding the max load that can be read at that factor. Also remember to change the evoscan factor to 1.3 too.

excuse my ignorance... but I need to change it in the Evoscan main screen. Right click and edit calc from 1.2 to 1.3. I did this, but do I need to change it else where? your post seemed to hint towards it, but I wasn't sure. Might you be talking about the data.xml file?

apart from changing it in the evoscan screen you also need to change it in the tephramods list in ecuflash. Make sure they both reflect the same 1.3 factor.

its the 2byte load dropping out like everybody said. If it was affecting fueling it would show up in IDC/IPW as well.

^ yup.

increase your load factor (in both the ROM and EvoScan)

yeah the pulsewidth didn't change so i figured it was something inside the way 1byte load was calc'd causing the issue. I actually went out and logged extra pulls with the IPW/IDC

I changed it from 1.2 to 1.3 and now I see everything. Thank you guys.

OT Question: how can you see ignition break up /spark blowing out in your datalogs?
