nah man, we gave up after reading 10 terrible reviews of the cable and used my dynex...viola!
I ended up buying the GIGA WARE cable from Radioshack. Installed the driver, hooked up to the LC-1, plugged into the USB port and baM!!! Works like a charm. Some of you mentioned Belkin. I don't know if I have the driver for that still but I'm going to have to look around. I bought mine from staples last year and didn't have any luck with it. Although I don't remember installing the driver then. I'm sure I did though.
I have tried the gigaware from Radio shack and just bought this one.
I am wondering if I have a problem with the WB itself. I was able to log it(kinda) through Evoscan. The value was flickering. I can not however communicate with the WB directly. The WB did work at one point in time this year.
This works great with Vista/7 x64: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812107108
I hate to really say this, but - Buy the Keyspan Serial adapter and you guys will not be having problems.
It works on XP / Vista/ OSX and anything I have ever tried to connect to; from Innovate to Haltech. Evo scan, DSMlink, etc. Quit screwing around with random cables and get one that works! There was a post about cables not being shielded well. I would assume that is why it is timing out on you.

I just udpdated the driver for the Belkin cable I bought last year and it worked for a couple of minutes and then the connection got lost. I reset everything and got the connection back without any failures.

I wouldn't suggest it so strongly if it didn't work well. Actually I'm trying to think of times it didn't work. And I honestly think they were all hardware issues. Pins pulled out of harness connectors, bad socket job on an ecu. Things that nothing would have connected to.
Typically if the keyspan doesn't work, something's royally eff'd.
I've had this one for probably 4 years or so. In and out of a million cars. Never a problem. Connects every time, to every thing.
