ok i have a 1.3 cable and i can only read and flash with 1.29. the question is can i edit and tune with 1.42 and flash my car with 1.29??? i havent tried it yet i am wondering if anybody has and has had any trouble???

 

yes - that will work fine, just dont confuse yourself

alternativley you can contact the manufacturer of the cable (either tactrix or evoscan) and ask them to "update" the cable to work with the newer version of EcuFlash

 

thanks tephra. i figured it would work just havent tried it. another quick question when converting from 96420008 to 96530006 i just have to disable the immobilizer via ECU periphery patch correct????

 

yes you can do the periphey bit change to disable the immobiliser.

Alternativley you can copy the 0xFAA bits from 96420008 to 96530006 and keep the immob

ok went and flashed the car with immobilizer still on. car wont start so turned off immobilizer via periphery. now when i try to reflash ecu clicks and computer wont connect. HELP!!

ok my ecu was locked. so i reflashed with immob diabled thru periphery. car wont start. HELP IM NEW!! lol

 

your not modifying the init code are you?

 

no tephra i did then i realize oops and i had to unlock my ecu but i got it running i just had to add 56d2 to perfinary (0).hex and she fired right up. now i just have to fine tune it. the car almost dies after taking it out of gear gunna try bumping up the idle map.
