This is getting ridiculous... Help please
I'm having major issues here :-/
Previously, I was tuning with a 1.3 cable and v1.29 of ecuflash. It worked just fine, and as long ad I edited the maps in 1.42, I could tune v7 with no issues, and flash with 1.29.
I decided to upgrade though, and spent the 200 for an OpenPort 2.0 with the Mitsubishi adapter, and tune AND flash with 1.42.
Well it doesn't work. I've uninstalled, cleared the registry, and reinstalled. Still no bueno. I've tried putting it in different directories, I tried 1.43, everything I could think of, and no matter what I get the no response to any known code, and the j245 or whatever the tactrix driver is times out.
In the same night, I tried my previous method, 1.3 cable with 1.29 ecuflash, and it worked fine for about 5 minutes, then started giving me the no response to any known code. I thought maybe voltage, hooked up jumper cables, swapped battery, no dice.
WTF am I doing wrong?
Btw I'm using a virtually new laptop, i5 proc, and win7.

Have you checked the connectors under the steering wheel?
Those may be a bit worn out.
Also, is Evoscan working fine for logging with your new 2.0 cable?
For me in my car OP 2.0 works flawlessly with both Evoscan and Ecuflash 1.43.

What version of windows are you using, vd?
And on a bit of a tangent...your sn isn't indicative of a real life condition, is it?
I had issues with not reading older Subarus but could read Evos just fine. It turns out that Windows holds on to multiple versions OP2 drivers. The drivers are specific to each version of ECUFlash.
1. With the OP2 pluged into the computer, Un-install all versions of ECUflash.
2. Goto device manager and un-install the OP2 driver. It should be under ports or have its own class if ECUFlash 1.43 was ever installed.
3. Scan for new PnP devices and the OP2 should be re-detected.
4. If Windows automatically installs drivers for the OP2 cable then repeat from step 2 else install ECUFlash 1.42
All should be good now. If not, I'd seriously consider backing up data and re-installing Windows on a freshly formated hard disk.

Any luck? I'm having the same problem. I got a new laptop, and was getting the code on it, tried on two different cars, and tried two different programs (ECUFlash and an OBD scan program). Went back to my old laptop that I've always used for tuning, same problem, both programs on either car. Could my cable be dead? That'd suck...
I had almost the same problem you all are describing.. Took me 6 months to figure it out lol
Took apart my cable and it had come disconnected inside the obd plug.. plugged it back in and its been perfect since
hope this helps at least one other person

Ok, now I've tried removing everything. I went through and cleaned the registry, removed all drivers etc.... and still nothing.
I then booted up my old XP Pro laptop and installed 1.42 there, it registers the OP2 cable on com port 5, but wont access the car. I'm starting to wonder if there is something wrong with my OP2 cable.
Is there a way to check, or do I have to send it in and have Tactrix do it?
