Hello, question for some of the experienced. I have a 2008 GSR with ROM ID 52680018 with an inherit 52680015. I have enabled mode23 with no problems and recently installed a AEM WB. I used the DTC disable codes listed in the first post to disable P0139/P0140 and set ECU Options 2 Bit 1 to 0. I wired the white wire output from the UEGO gauge to the yellow/grey stripe wire from the rear o2 as shown in the "how to". I was able to set up the rear 02 to datalog afrin evoscan with all the right conversions. It shows correctly. Now to my questions/issues...
1. I got an SES light after the 2nd start and warm up. I was able to drive all over on the initial start up and no issues. Any suggestions or thoughts here?
2. I assumed I was getting the SES light due to the rear o2 disable so I went to check DTC in Evoscan. I have the DTC option set to OBD II and it will not pull the DTC code. All I get is "ECUID" in the DTC results box. I tried this with DTC option set to CAN and it just freezes up. I have also tried this with the ECU pull down on both "EVO X" and "EVO X Mode23 USA"
What gives? I can clear the SES light by clearing DTC's with ECUFlash but they return after the second start again.
Thanks for any guidance here,
Chris

Turn the ECU Options 2 Bit 1 back to a 1.
You have to have the latest EvoScan 2.7.0046 for the DTC stuff to work. You select EVOX EFI to get it to work.
Edit: there may be 1 more disable you are missing to log the rear O2 without a SES. I have a different ROM and I used a P0420 disable.

light stays off for first drive after reset and pops randomly on second start and after some driving?
Hello, my name is Michael and I am a Modaholic.
I've been CEL free for 4 days. It might be premature, but here is how I did it.
I turned On "Enable Rear o2 Sensor", bit 2 of ECU Option Set #2 ( = 1 ). Then I turned Off "Enable Catalytic Monitoring P0420".
That did it. So far so good.
I do not have my WB tied into the rear O2, and I am not logging it via the ECU. I'm using the USB to Serial port method.

I actually was able to drive it for a whole 2 days witout the light coming on and it popped again yesterday?
Last question, I actually cut and wired the AEM directly to the car side of the yellow/grey wire for logging. Would that make any difference versus "tapping" in to form a "T"?
Edit: Thanks for your help here..
I'm sorry, but I don't know those answers. My stock rear O2 is in it's stock position. I have no idea if that bit will cause it to heat up or not.
Maybe someone else knows? Maybe instead of trying this, you could try the P0420 disable?

I haven't done that, I will have to go back under the seat and unplug the oem rear sensor. I assume flipping the bit back to "1" will cause the oem sensor to heat if I don't unplug the sensor? Need to prevent it from heating up while it's bundled up under the car with the oem wiring.

At least, it seems, you cut the signal wire so that both were not trying to send power over it (I assume even if the heater is off the sensor still gets power and sends a signal back). So yes, T-ing into a wire that should be unplugged would be the same as cutting it and splicing it into the end... just much more difficult to undo at a later date if needed
Wait wait wait.... you left the sensor plugged in, but disabled it (which the posts specifically say will wreck the sensor)? Strange way to go about things.

I have taken the sensor out of the cat and it is tied up under the metal plate that protects the acces port under the car. The plug/connector under the seat is still connected, not the actual sensor. So sensor is disabled and not installed in the oem location.I can reconnect the wires in the center console area very simply with the spade connectors. This allows me to go back OEM if need be.
I am not a rookie with cars, just EVO's...
Thanks for trying to get me going in the right direction though
Update...
Not sure how it's related but once the cat was replaced with the test pipe and the sensor mounted there instead of the cat, the code is not being set off after reset. The sensor is also much more responsive now, so they may be part of it? I have some theories but not many seem interested in this thread so I'll let it be.

k im looking for some assistance im wanting to eliminate the P0420 code, but im just curious has anyone done it. Any ideas where too start? do's and dont's?
would i be able to put
<table name="Enable catalytic monitoring (P0420)" category="Misc" address="503BC" type="1D" scaling="Hex8"/> into my .xml and get away with it??
will it brick my car??
some feedback would be awesome cuz eliminating my rear 02 would be nice
hmmm looking at it i guess im gonna dive further into mut tables and try and locate the proper adress if anyone out their has done this on their RA let me know
