with the X there isn't any load cuttoff for the BCS... so it will work at idle - whatever you have in the table...
I just put 50% in, and its not that loud... ie the lifters are louder...
so i don't think that could be causing it either..
Car runs like normal...
Maybe when I hit boost cut I jumped a tooth or something on the cam gears??? I have noticed when *sometimes* during take off (1/2/3) the car makes a 'wheezing' sound... like the turbo is spooling, but I dont think it is..
I will need to correlate that with a log... next time I am out

Dunno.

update - I had a look down at the exhaust and the "thing" that I thought could have come loose hasn't.. (as far as I can see anyways)
I am going to pull the plugs - but my feeling is they will be fine... Post some pics soonish

anyone interested in seeing a log?
http://www.globalshare.net/evo/log.zip
load it up in excel and filter by knocksum (exclude 0KS) and you will see the magic
lol
what's interesting is I don't have any major knock until the engine is 77degC, and then nothing after 425seconds..
So it's not really "cold start" problems...

Not sure that there is anything to be learned. Have you looked at the knock code to see if its any different than the 8/9 code? Another thought that I just had is that it might be useful to loosen and then retorque the knock sensor on the block.
I will get that part throttle knock no matter what octane is in there. It either knocks like crazy there, from head or piston noise, or ecu too sensitive at the area. It doesn't worry me too much.
