That's where I got the info and idea from, since I was beating my head in trying to get the VE tables in line.

Actually, since you will have slower boost onset with the big turbo, it makes it a BREEZE to tune.

I've got a question about the map switching ...

If the map switch is set to use the accelerator ("3"), does the ECU automatically remember the map choice, or do I have to also toggle another option for memory?

It remember's as long as your battery is working in your car (ie: your battery doesn't die). But, if you have TPS set to map switch you cannot use Valet Mode, read the Wiki Fosty posted or click the link in my signature. He does a good job of explaining each feature there.

It should remember, but I didn't wind up testing that feature yet. Conceivably you might have to do autovalet on fresh ignition... but that wouldn't make much sense. Why don't you check for us and make sure?

Yeah, I'm gonna have to check. I thought about the auto-valet, but if that were the case it would revert to the E85 tune if I switched back to pump gas on fresh ignition ... doesn't make sense. I should be able to check on Friday.

Yeah I'm in the same boat on this, I ran out of time to play with it this evening, but it appears that everything is correct except the defs in the livemap app.

Sorry guys after reading through the first few pages I am not sure about the process. I copied the XML file 96530706 into my EVO file under ecuflash. I have a 2003 EVO 8 Internal ID: 94170008. I opened my map like I usually do (with version 1.42) and everything looks the same. I thought that there was no patching or anything. Can you tell me what step I missed?

you have to copy some of the info out of your old rom into the base rom that comes in the zip file along with the xml, then you have to burn that to the car.

Gracias senior.

Do you mean that you had the secondary map selected and it remembered the state, even after a flash?

noo.. I put it on the Alt map (tps switching), turned the car off while messing with something else unrelated, cranked the car back up, and it was still running on the alt map. A re-flash defaults pretty much all of that, back to running off the main maps. -- on an VIII. I don't know bout your IX but I imagine its going to work the same

the only thing that's throwing me for a loop right now is the dma stuff.

I figured it would default to the base maps on a flash, but just thought I'd ask.

See you Sunday I guess!

a bit more detail:

you have to open up the version 7 ROM. then, you have to take all your fuel, ignition, MIVEC, etc tables from your old rom and cut/paste them to the ver7 ROM. you will have to go back and make all the changes to the ver7 that you did to your old one, i.e. immobilizer, knock light, etc.
save this file under what every name you want. you will now use this one to tune your car and make other changes. you will no longer use your old rom.
also: the ver7 fuel and timing maps have a much higher resolution (example: 250rpm increments above 3k rpm).. so you can't do a direct cut/paste. you will need to add your values and fill in the in-between stuff. common sense should be enough to do this part, but i've read how some people make excel spread sheets that will do it for them.

i think that's about it.

I apologise in advance for my ignorance..

I have a 94170015 ROM ID in a 2003.. The rom has not been modified for any of the older tephra stuff.

if I was to incorporate the version 7 Type material into my rom, would I need to have any external wiring for the alternate map switching ? or can all of this be done through the Tephra options window.
