I am changing over to speed density, do I have to have a maf translator while running ecu flash?

I suggest reading the basic "how to" for SD. 95% of your questions will be ansered in that thread.

Like this one for instance...

Yes, this.

People, you need to seriously read read read before considering jumping into something like this. Why do you want to run SD anyways? People have been making epic power and daily driveability on the stock MAF for a LONG time, SD is cool, but don't be in a huge rush to convert to it. Learn all of the facts before you decide

yes, i read that, but that covers the tephra patch for ecu flash, not the mechanics of wiring the map into the harness, or wherever it needs to go. I am changing because of the hideousness of the maf and if I go even bigger later thats another part i don't have to change. I know how to search. But my engine bay doesn't need the huge black plastic thing that gets in the way. I understand what you have to do in ecuflash to run speed density, but no where did I see a how too on wiring the maf or map. Thats why I asked.

mrfred explains where and how to wire in the sensors in his mat patch thread and logging boost thread. Read through those.

You will need some ECU pin connectors as well, but I think mrfred covers that in his threads.

ah ha, maybe im overthinking here. I can just wire in a 3 bar map to my stock map sensor. can I use the maf input on the ecu for intake air temp sensor? I have done that before but not using this type of ecu and program, does the program allow you change inputs on the ecu? because that would be way easier.

You can use the MAF IAT wires or you can use the fuel temp ADC to wire in an IAT sensor. I don't know off the top of my head without my laptop handy for the table name, or the correct value to enter for either. Read through the first few page of the v7 thread...I asked the same question regarding IAT input myself.
