Evo 8 MAP sensor in an evo 9
So I've been chasing down some trouble code gremlins on the Evo 9 I just bought and while trying to track down why my car keeps throwing a p0069 and a p0106 code (both map related), I realized that the previous owner replaced the MAP sensor with an Evo 8 map sensor which has a different part number.
I know the following...
Evo 8 MAP sensor, with part No. MD305600 reads inlet manifold diff pressure.
Evo 9 MAP sensor, with part No. MN153281, reads inlet manifold absolute pressure.
My question is when I replace the sensor with the correct one, am I going to need to retune the car since I'm guessing the load values will be slightly different or am I overthinking this?
Hope this makes sense.
