SD Troubles....HELP!
SD Troubles....HELP!
Hey all,
Finally got the IAT hooked up a couple of days ago and SuPeRnEt (my tuner) and I tried last night to convert to SD. We downloaded the latest ROM, which actually made the car start, but I had to rapidly pump the gas to even keep the car on. Immobilizer was disabled with no change. He messed with the SD RPM VE table and messed with AFR to no avail. Is this possibly something wrong with the Omni 4 Bar sensor? I don't understand why the ECU isn't taking the ROM. My tuner told me that my car might just not like the ROM.
Any insight would be most appreciated. I'm gonna try to get SuPeRnEt to caveat to shed some more light on the situation.

Also, when I was able to keep the car on long enough for him to data log, the front 02 numbers were crazy bouncing from like -.09 to .003. It was jumping back and forth really quickly.

That's right and why I asked...switching to 9653 either needs the BISS reset or the ISCV tables retuned. And if the OP is switching to 9653 then this may be part of his problem, but I don't want to yell at him for not doing his homework until we know for sure.
Hey guys sorry it took so long to reply, his og rom is 96940011 and am using SD rom 96533706. Ive had his SD VE from 70-100 with no changes in start up his injectors are stock. Just checked the ISCV Tables and they were a little off from stock do you think thats the reason?
Absolutely....switching to 9653 from 9694 either needs the BISS adjusted or the ISCV tables readjusted or the car will barely hold idle.
Also, as far as VE tables, there are two. It sounds like you are just adjusting the RPM VE table? I would recommend tapering both tables at idle to get to a multiplied VE of somewhere around 65% or so and adjust from there based on long and short term trims.

Forgive my ignorance, but is this BISS something in the program or can I reset it mechanically?
I don't mean to sound ignorant so bear with me...did you remember to apply the Omni 4 bar MAP sensor scaling to the Load/kPa VE table? When I was first playing around with 9653 I accidentally forgot to apply the scaling and it did the same thing on my car that you've mentioned.
How long did you let it sit running before assuming the values don't work just out of curiosity? It takes several minutes to get the trims to start to move in any direction. Usually around 5-6 minutes which is very annoying but that seems to be the cycle time of the ECU. It's similar to scaling injectors. I settled on 65 in the 500 range and kept playing with the pedal for a few minutes until it kicked in. That was enough to get it to idle ok long enough to find the sweet spot using livemap which ended up being 62.
Try to avoid messing with the AF in any way until you have the VE dialed in 100%. It'll only slow you down.
