New Excel File: Map tracer from CSV log

Hey guys,

I've got an excel file that I've been working on to help make reading logs easier. It's essentially a map tracer that traces any parameter you have logged but using excel instead of evoscan (which i have never been able to get to work right). It has enough rows and cells for use with the new big maps in V7, and you can customize the rpm and load scaling.

There's an instruction sheet which contains the basic step by step, and also a bit of information on how the data is calculated. It's not a perfect calculation because it doesn't do reverse interpolation, so use it as an indicator, not an absolute value.

Post any questions you have up here.

I don't know if it will work in 2003, i know it works in 2007.

Nice work. I like your disclosure about the method of calculation. I suspect that many people that are using a maptracer are not seeing the same interpolation that the ecu uses when calculating values that fall inbetween the cell values. It should be used as a rough guide to tuning. Maptracers do speed up the process though. Good work. Gotta love excel.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but when I load my log and go to the map trace, cell A1 doesn't allow me to select any of my logged items...it only has "ZTXBoost" and a "0" in the drop down box.
Is there something else that I needed to do?

This is handy

An old version I had of a map tracer would not let me scale for V7 big maps.

Something I noticed when I was pasting in large logs: Only LogID's 1-1000 will be traced. So if you do a pull in a log starting at LogID #1533, for example, it won't trace, even if you only pasted the pull. You'll need to manually change the logID's so that they start from 1 to get it to trace. Don't know if that was your problem Drag?

Logid started at 34 and ended at 91. So it must be something else, in your log how are the decimals seperated? by a . or ,??

They are separated by a period.
