noob question
So I'm purchasing a car that I would like to do some upgrades on and continue flashing myself. The previous owner has already upgraded things like the turbo, injectors, IC, ect. and has had the car dyno tuned at a near by performance shop. The shop has reflashed the vehicle using there own proprietary XML files that give large fuel and timing tables. Understandably the shop will not give out there developed software. So in regards to my options I have a few questions:
1. If I start using Ecuflash w/o there XML files that help display the large maps and I modify items in the maps displayed am I truly changing the fuel or timing settings?
2. In general higher resolution maps take up additional memory address’s correct? If so when using various xml’s that increase table resolution this would also alter the ECU logic when looking up information it is remapped to a different address on the ROM?
In general I’m thinking just starting from the stock ROM code but there might be a better option out there. I also don’t know where to obtain the stock code.

1. Yes if you start changing the data in the maps you will be actually changing these fuel and timing values that the computer will read.
2.???
3. If you have a tactrix cable and your using ecuflash just make sure everything is plugged up and hit the "read from ecu" button on ecuflash, then look at the left side and under the "current ROM metadata" box there will be a "Rom info" section hit the + to expose the information under this and then look for the "internal ID:" This seems to be what your after from what I understood.
2.???

Well close. I'm wondering how to keep modifying the fuel tables. If I'm understanding most of these post I'll be adjusting something that ecuflash thinks are the fuel tables but the vales that have been input into the ecu in there tables will remain and I'll be fighting them.
Yeah, I guess im lost also, It takes alot of work and knowlodge and V7 has been under construction for years so the chance that they have made their own program just doesnt seem possible. not impossible it just seems way off. Are you still using the factory MAF? I guess I would just use ecuflash to see what you get after you read from the rom file.
